Shop 'n Save Deals: 11/21/10 - 11/27/10

There is no new weekly ad for Shop 'n Save this week.  You can check the coupon match-ups I posted last week HERE

But, there is a great deal that was advertised in Shop 'n Save's ad in the Sunday Post-Dispatch.

Save $20 on your next shopping order when you purchase $100 in select gift cards. Offer valid through 11/27.  Coupon prints at register.  Gift cards included in offer:
  • iTunes
  • Barnes & Noble
  • Applebee's
  • Bass Pro
  • AMC
  • Kohl's
  • Best Buy
If you're Christmas shopping at one of these stores, eat regularly at Applebee's or see movies at AMC, this is a great deal.  $20 in free groceries for something you're already doing!

  2. Can you use you shop n save gift cards to buy the others? Use your entertainment book coupons to get those saving $10, then getting $20 back? Oh my! I may have just outcouponed my brain!

  3. I just called Arnold CS and they said purchasing other gift cards with a SNS gift card is one of its only exclusions....so I guess we can't do that :-( I was thinking the same thing!

  4. Hi All

Anonymous - You might have just outcouponed my brain too.

I took a look at my SNS giftcard I have in my wallet and it doen't mention any exlculsions, but as the Arnold CS said, that doesn't mean they would allow you to use them on other retailers giftcards.

  5. Back in June around Father's Day, SNS was running a similar gift card promotion where if you bought $100 in gift cards to places like Sears (and more) you got a $10 coupon off your next order of groceries. In June, I used 2 of the $5 off $50 coupons from the Entertainment book and bought SNS gift cards and then bought the $100 gift card to Sears using the the 2 SNS gift cards and did recieve the $10 coupon off my groceries. Before I did the deal, I spoke with the store manager who was at the customer service counter and he said it would work and they all kept talking about what a great deal I would be getting even as I was walking out of the store. This was the SNS in St. Charles, so I would maybe call a different store and see what they tell you. But in the past, it has worked.

  6. Ooh, thanks for the heads up! If I use a SNS GC that was purchased with Entertainment Book Qs to buy a Kohl's GC and use that to pay my Kohl's CC on which I received 15% off at Kohl's when I used my credit card, I'll be triple stacking the deal! Woohoo!

  7. Staci, i read on another forum that only certain kohls giftcards could be used to pay cc bills, and this one didnt work.

  8. I've never had any problem using SNS gift cards to pay for other retailers gift cards that are for sale at SNS. I even asked at CS before I tried. So I dont know why the Arnold store would be telling people differently. Did they mean they dont allow it as part of this $20 off deal, or all the time?

  9. Has anyone done this deal yet? Do you get one $20 coupon? Is it a 2 week expiration? Are there any restrictions on using more than one at a time? I am thinking of doing this several times, but am a little nervous about spending all the SNS coupons in a short time.

  10. Great deal! I just came from Shop 'n Save and bought my $100 gift cards. The $20 coupon is only good for one week. I spent mine right away so I don't know about any other restrictions. I might go back again for more tomorrow.

  11. Thanks, couponmama. That's too bad. I wonder what the difference is. I know you can't use Kohl's credit, but I thought it would work with a GC.

  12. Lisa, was it exactly a week from today? I was really hoping the coupon would be good on a $10/$50 Thursday, but I guess not. Thanks for the heads up couponmama on not being able to pay your Kohls charge with these GCs. I had thought of buying the GCs Friday or Saturday after I shopped to pay off my charge, but I guess that won't work either.
I was at Kohl's the other day and the computer wouldn't let me pay my card with my merchandise credit card, but would let me with the GC I had. I looked at the barcode of the Kohls GC I bought at SNS last week, and it is the same kind as the merchandise credit, not the GC that worked so unfortunately, I think you are right.

  13. Yes. Expiration was 11/29/10, exactly one week, which is why I went ahead and used it right away as I figured with the holiday ahead I might not get back there in time.

  14. Hi All

I think I will wait til Friday and do the gift card deal. If by chance SNS does have a 10/50 next week I will be able to use the $20 Cat then, if not I can use it anytime during the week.

  15. I would love to wait until Friday to buy my Kohl's GCs, but SNS doesn't open until 6 and I hope to be home by then. :)
I called South County CS and they said I could use the $20 coupon to buy an Entertainment book. I think I will do that.

  16. Doing the best out of the good deals is making my head spin. Getting $20 Cat. coupon and maximizing the use of that coupon again...Whew!!! :)

Looks like JB's idea is a good one or is it? ;) Hope all SnS stores will let us do this. Does anyone still have a $ Cat. Q good on your next shopping order? What does it say on the "restrictions"? TIA, a lot.

I'm thinking of buying Best Buy GC if only my dear hubby will bring me there on the very early morning of Thanksgiving. hmmm.

  18. I just did what JB suggested. I went to SnS (Lindbergh location) and got SnS GCs using the coupons from an Entertainment Book (EB). Then I bought two $100 Kohl's GC. (I did a $100 purchase twice as I wasn't sure if a single transaction would prompt two $20 Catalinas.) Then I walked over to CS and bought 2 EBs. I thought my total would be $20 because of the 2 Catalinas. I was surprised when she said my total was $18.31 (which I paid with a SnS GC for additional savings). Tax of $1.69 had been subtracted from the price. I am assuming the $30 list price includes tax and since Catalinas reduce tax, I was getting credit for that. This seemed like a good way to use the $20 Catalinas since I can use the SnS $5/50s in the EBs thus recovering a minimum of $60. Plus I have LOTS of things I want to buy at Kohl's on Black Friday!!

  19. I just went to the Lindbergh SnS to do this deal again. One lady in CS wasn't sure if I could use the SnS GCs to buy other GCs. Apparently this had been a question yesterday. She checked with the manager who said they had asked someone higher up yesterday and not gotten a response, so I got to do it. Also you MUST do each $100 in a separate transaction. Only one $20 will print per transaction.
