For Christmas this year we are performing a 'Hill-Billy" Christmas play at our church. It is mainly for the children, but the adults are the ones dressing up and performing the play, the kiddos are extra 'mini hill-billies'. It will be tons of fun being silly, but also emphasizing the true meaning of Christmas. We are very excited :)

One special tradition for our family is for the littlest child in the family to place the baby Jesus in the nativity scene on Christmas Eve.

I dont have family in town so I usually go to Florida in mid-Dec to have early Christmas with my parents. They live in a retirement community and we walk around singing carols to the residents at night.

Our family really gets in the holiday spirit about this time in December, it is time to start baking cooking for Journey to Bethlehem.. It is a lot of fun even the 6 yr old boy enjoy's it. This year we are not in the "play" but we will walk the journey several times, and at end see everyone eating our cookies ( they usually give away over 30,000 home baked cookies and hot chocolate after you have walked to bethlehem.
ReplyDeleteMy parents, siblings and my family go to a movie and then out for pizza on Christmas eve. We have been doing this since I was a kid and have continued the tradition as our family has grown with spouses and grandkids. We all look forward to it!

To celebrate the holidays, we bake lots of goodies for ourselves and those we love, we ride around and take in the glow of neighboring Christmas lights and the entire extended family gets together at my Grandmother's house for good food, good company, and cool presents. Thanks for the chance!
