Walgreens Field Notes - Week of 1/09/11

I headed to Walgreens this morning  to check on Stayfree and Reach prices.   My store is always higher than the online prices and today's items were no different.

See this week's Deals and coupon match-ups HERE.
  • Reach Floss - Shelf price: $4.29  I ended up buying (2) Reach Total Care and (2) Reach Total Care with Whitening.  Two of them rang up at $4.29 and two rang up $2.79,  and of course, I can't tell from the receipt which ones were which. The Walgreens in-ad coupon for $2 off coupon deducted $6 when I purchased 4.  The coupon states limit 3 - I don't think I've ever seen an in-ad coupon enforce the limit automatically.
  • Reach Toothbrush - Shelf price: $4.99
  • Stayfree Maxi Pad - Shelf price: $6.79

  2. Did you have enough in your order to absorb overages from the Reach? That's the only explanation I have for why the limit of three. I was thinking the IVC wasn't programmed for one type but since you bought two of each, that couldn't have been it...unless the cashier scanned one type three times and the other type once.

  3. The Walgreens diapers/wipes aren't a bad deal. The diapers are $6 and the wipes are $2. Buy $15, get $3RR buy $25, get $5RR. I bought 2 diapers and 2 wipes. The wipes I got had peelies for save $2 if you buy both the diapers and wipes. I used 2 of those, spent $12 ($16 before coupons) and got $3 back. Like $9 for 2 diapers and 2 wipes.
The coupons are MQ so you will need one for each set in your order. Not all the wipe packages had them on them. Also, pay close attention, my coupons scanned at $1 instead of $2, but the cashier voided them and manually entered them at $2.

  4. Hi JB,

TYVM for the diaper/wipe info. I had thought about it when I was cking out the ad. I need to start stocking up for my half sis, she might be having a early arrival but we hope he decides to stay in a little longer. =) I guess I have to start paying more attention to the diaper deals since she is on bedrest now, I just do not see how any of the young kids are able to take care of themselves in this economy. But I know some of my ways have rubbed off on her =)

  5. Does anyone know where the Go! kids vitamins are in the store? I looked in the vitamin section and didn't even see a spot for it. Thanks for the help!

Also, some of the Reach toothbrushes are on clearance ($2.99) at some stores. I don't think the $2 in ad coupon works on these even though they are listed on the coupon as valid. I noticed the medium ones were the ones on clearance, but the soft are not. Go figure.

  6. Janet- babies r us diapers are pretty good. You can catch a sale for 2 cases for $35. Not too bad, especially if you don't have a coupon deal to work. :)

  7. Can't resist adding. Janet she could consider cloth. For about $100 to $200 she could diaper her baby until potty trained. We are soon to start diapering our fourth and have only used cloth and LOVE IT!!!:)

  8. I agree with Lisa B - cloth diapers rock. I own a small cloth diapering online store which I run from home in the metro-east area. Please feel free to click my profile and contact me with any questions!

I got the EOS shave gel and it came with a free Bic Razor attached and a coupon for $2 off Bic Soleil razors.

  9. I also could not find the Go! vitamins - with 3 kids, I could really use those too!

  10. On the cloth diapering note, Cotton Babies has 2 retail stores in the Stl. area and they have really good sales on their used cloth diapers. I was able to buy them for my son for $1. I think they have the dollar sale twice a year.

  11. Just butting in here on the cloth diapers - Cotton Babies is great! I purchased "seconds" of their bumgenius one-size for $5 each... these just have a few missed stitches or whatever that you can't even see. They have been great for us and lasted through 18 months of use so far!

  12. At the Walgreens on Telegraph by Oberweis they had the Go! vitamins by the register. I was there
about 5 o'clock and they only had one left so you might want to call first.

  13. Hi All,

Thanks a million to all that responded in regards to diapers. I was thinking to do cloth also for her so the used diaper info is much appreciated. =)

  14. Hi All - I'm loving reading about the diaper discussion. I know cloth diapers have changed since I use to babysit as a kid. It boggles my mind that people are using them again. But, they do sound so much better than the "olden days".

I think you are correct Anynomous. Since a few of my flosses rang up less than I thought they would, I didn't have enough other merchandise to cover all the overage.
