I'm the world's worst RR roller! But I'm determined next week to roll my $9RR from last week and a $1 coupon to pay for the Joint Juice, and then roll that $10RR into the appitite spray. I also have a bunch of $1 and .50 RRs to use up.
ReplyDeleteSo it is back to the razors again. Good thing my son took a box of razors with him when he moved to Chicago and left my husband empty handed.
ReplyDeleteCJ - I bet some of the readers here (or Jeri) would be glad to help you come up with some scenarios. =) I hate having a bunch of smaller value RRs because of the need for fillers, but I have several $1.50 and a $1 to use as well.
ReplyDeleteI like to jot down the items I'm interested in and the price after Qs have been deducted. I find it a lot easier to do the math and end up with as little OOP as possible.
Hi All
ReplyDeleteCJ & Staci - I hate the little RR too. So much of rolling them is used up with fillers. I've decided I'm not going to even try and roll them any more unless there is one of the Holiday items in the ad for less than 20 cents. I'll purchase my papers or look for the cheap food item for the week and just spend them on that.
Lynda - My son's packs up a box of goodies when he is home too. This time he cleaned out the deodorant. I would think he was selling the stuff out of his trunk on campus, but he dosen't have a car.
I actually like the smaller RRs. I can always spend them on small bags of chips, bottles of juice or soda, snacks and travel sized items. I have more trouble using up the bigger RRs because I tend to do mostly small transactions. No RR ever goes unused by me, but I'm just not big on scenarios and trying to figure the best way to use them.
ReplyDeleteCJ - That probably makes for a bit more sanity! Sometimes I drive myself batty trying to figure out how to roll 'em to keep my OOP as low as possible.
ReplyDeleteI finally realized that it makes more sense for me to buy stuff we actually use/need for fillers rather than just the cheapest thing. I often use ramen noodles (not the healthiest item in the world, but my hubby likes to keep them in the office in case he needs a little something else to eat) and I love it when they have the tomato sauce for $.33!
Staci - Sometimes sanity is more important than making the best deal. I too would rather use an RR on something I need, even if it makes for higher OOP, rather than buying cheap things I'll never use. My favorite fillers lately are the .99 chips and $1 pancake mix pouches.
ReplyDeleteWhen I have little ones, hubby snags those for candy. His favorite filler. Looks like Pro-Glide and Sinex for me this week. Will roll those with Joint Juice and Pantene. And, of course, I will get some M&Ms for me.
