  2. does anyone know if Dierbergs enforces their limit per item on the 15 hour sale? on the s&w beans - the limit in the flyer says 4 cans.

    thanks!

  3. I am wondering this too. In the past, the 15 hour sale items have rung up regular price and then immediately had a separate line with the discount for the sale. I am thinking the registers may be able to enforce the limits this way, but have never tried to buy more. I am hoping someone knows from experience.

  4. I have bought more then the limit before and the register does enforce the limit.

  5. Hi All,

My Dierbergs trip was rather funny yesterday. I overlooked that the Purina One Cat food coupon expired 4/12/11 so I had to do some shopping yesterday to use them up. Stopped at Dierbergs found 22 boxes at $2.99 ea. I take said boxes to the ck out lane-Cashier asks if I am going to buy all of them? and that she will have to ck cause I cannot buy more than 3 of the same item using coupons? Huh? Me-That is your double coupon policy and does not pertain to this transaction. Cashier-Wait I will ck with the Manager-who is 10 foot away-Manager says Cashier is correct I cannot buy more than 3 per day/per person with said coupon and POINTS out the Double Coupon Policy on their Ad. I say this is not a double coupon and this does not pertain to this transacation. Manager-but our policy(pointing at it again) says ................. I say fine-Whats your name. I write it down. Tell her I have 22 boxes x $3 ea thats $66 dollars I will not buy from your store and I will put it back on the shelf-which I did. Then went to the CS counter and asked for the Store Director. He was a very nice man and Understood what I was trying to do was not Doubling Any Coupon but using a coupon to acquire a free item and Says "you will only have to pay tax after the coupon". He told me to go get the boxes and he would ring them at the CS desk and speak with the Manager and Cashier to clarify there coupon policies.

My only problem is-How much money is Dierbergs losing because Management does not know their own store policies correctly? How many other cumstomers have been told the same story by Management? Makes you wonder.

  6. Thanks JB for the S&W coupon links! I was looking for S&W coupons becuase I'm out of serveral types of beans.

Hi Janet - Thanks for sharing. You're living proof that it takes thick skin and a strong backbone to coupon. I hope everyone understands, if you are shot down at the register about coupon usage, and you know what is happening is not the coupon policy, you have to move up the channels of command.

Now on to retailers in general. Not only do I not understand why retailers don't train all levels of employees in all areas of company policy, but I don't understand why they can't program their computers to take the "guess work" out of coupon policies.

  7. I have always limited myself to three identical coupons at a time, even if they weren't doubled, since that'a the way I read their disclaimer. The double coupon was applied to 15 items, the remainder of the disclaimer was for all coupons---glad to hear I was wrong---I'll have to check with the staff at "my" store!

  8. JB

Thanks for the S&W Bean coupon link. I printed the $.75/3 a few weeks ago, so was out of prints on it. However, I kept pushing the back button and was able to get 4 prints of the $.50/2 instead of the normal 2. This is a GREAT price. If anyone else is printing these coupons, I would suggest trying the back button several times to see if you get extra prints also.

  9. Janet - Way to go! I've occasionally pointed out to store employees that they will be missing out on sales by not allowing proper coupon usage. Hopefully they will realize how much of an impact it can make on their sales, which then also can affect staffing and paychecks. Are store directors usually on duty during the day at most stores? I've always thought the manager was the top of the command chain in person, but I'll know to ask for the SD now if need be.

  11. So glad I have multiple computers to print from. S&W only let me print the $.50 Q twice on each machine.

  12. I stopped by Dierbergs yesterday to pick up beans and produce and two things caught my eye as I browsed the rest of the store for other bargains: Funfetti cake mix was on sale for .99 a box (the shelf was nearly empty) and Freschetta by the Slice had finally arrived. Three of the four varieties carried by the Dierbergs in Fenton had "Try Me Free" rebate labeling on the box, whereas only one of the four varieties carried by my local Shop 'n Save currently features the rebate offer.
