Just an FYI, this sweet corn is very good and based upon prices this year, a very good deal. I have been getting my corn to put away for the winter from the Relleke farm for over 20 years. I usually buy direct. I bought corn from the another grower this year to try and was dissatisfied. At the grower, I paid $4.50 per 12. So this price is only .30 more and you don't have to drive to Collinsville.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rhonda - I love the "prices this year". I'm having a hard time with the increases on everything. I'm so used to paying less, I can hardly bring myself to pay 2011 prices.
ReplyDeleteI'm assuming you freeze the corn. Any tips for me?
Blanche for 5 minutes and cut off cob. Put in bag and compress air out. You are done. Prices are a real shocker for me too. I am trying to put it in perspective through comparative knowledge.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rhonda! Now that I have a freezer, I'm going to have to try freezing corn.
