I haven't been in Dollar General since the last time I tried to use fabric softner coupons that were free and they wouldn't let me use them. Does anyone know if they are more coupon friendly now. I sure would like to hit these deals up.
ReplyDeleteLynda - I don't shop at DG very often, but I haven't had any problems using coupons there. Although, my transaction were very simple using manf. coupons only.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping they get in more Airwick's soon! I got one and it was the only one in the store. I guess I will have to check on other locations...the cereal is a good deal as well! I had to ask for the in store coupon on the cereal...they didn't know what I was talking about, but afterwards everything was ok.
ReplyDeleteI went to our local Dollar General in J'ville,IL and had nothing but problems with the cereal deal...cashier first said $3 would be taken off at register, then when obviously it didn't told me..."yes, it did...see the cereal is $2 a box" when I tried to explain that that was the SALE price BEFORE the coupon she said...No it wasn't, that is just how it was...VERY FRUSTRATING!!!!NOT a good experience at all!!!!! Connie
ReplyDeleteConnie,
ReplyDeleteSorry you had so much trouble. The sale price was $2 a box before the in store coupon...I'm not sure why the employees at the Dollar General stores don't know about these deals??? When I went in, there were alot of people and they were buying the items that were on sale. It is really frustrating when you think something is going to go smoothly and all the employees don't know what you are talking about and it clearly is not right. They might've not even scanned the coupon then if the price was still $2 a box. Hopefully you will have a better experience next time.
Thanks Dawn for the info on the Cereal deal. From reading the ad, I wasn't quite sure if it was a store coupon or manf. coupon
ReplyDeleteConnie - I understand your frustration.Did you ask to speak to a manager. When an employee is clueless, I have no problem discussing the problem with the manager. Most of the time they will thank you.
If the manger was clueless, then you should contact the coroporate office. I'm sure there is a place to contact them on their website.
The coupon (and it a store coupon) was on a tearpad on one of the endcaps with Kellogg's products. It doesn't expire until 12/31/11. I asked one of the girls that was stocking if she knew about the deal and she walked me right toward the endcap with coupon. I didn't have any mfr coupons but I still think $1/box for cereal is a good deal :) I also thought the large boxes of Puffs for $1.50 were a good deal. My oldest has to have the large box for school so we got one of those. I had $1 off milk wyb nabisco cookies (we got the $1.67 oreos) and $1 off glad trashbags that I used as well.
ReplyDeleteThe only problem I had was when trying to work the Lysol wipes deal with MIR. For some reason, not all my products were itemized on my receipt even though it showed my item count total was correct. It was very weird - I tried mailing the receipt in anyway with the UPC and explanation. Will see if it works out or not!
Hi LeAnn - Thanks for the additional info. I hope that Lysol rebate works for you. Some receipts are so hard to read, I don't know how those rebate houses ever get it right.
ReplyDeleteHi All,
ReplyDeleteLeAnn-do you still have one of these coupons? My GF was asking about stacking and I am thinking from what I am reading that this -$3/3 Kellogg coupon Is a MQ with the new barcode on it? If you have one let us know what the barcode area looks like and what is the remit to info? TIA
I do still have one. It says:
ReplyDeleteOffer valid 8/1/11 through 12/31/11
Save $3 on any THREE packages of Keebler and/or Sunshine Multi Packs, Kellogg's cereals, and/or Kellogg's Pop-Tarts mini crisps. (4.86 oz or larger, any flavor, mix or match)
Consumer: Offer is limited to one coupon per three 4.86 oz or larger packages purchased. Coupon may not be reproduced or transferred.
Retailer: Kellogg's sales company will redeem this coupon in accordance with our redemption policy, copies available upon request. Cash value 1/100c. Void where prohibited, taxed, or restricted by law.
Mail coupons to:
Kellogg Company
PO Box 880299
El Paso, TX 88588-0299
It has a picture of the Dollar General logo but it does not say "redeemable at" or "only redeemable at". The barcode does look different. In fact, the Dollar General register didn't recognize it all (nothing - no beep or anything) so they had to manually deduct the savings. It definitely appears to be a MQ so glad I didn't try to "stack" it with anything.
Hope that helps!
Hi LeAnn - Thanks for taking the time to type of the info. All the info on the coupon makes it look like a Manf. coupon, but what's up with the bar code? Is it one of the longer bar codes found on Manf. coupon or does it look more like a store bar code?
ReplyDeleteHi LeAnn,
ReplyDeleteTYVM for confirming the Kelloggs info.
Jeri-this is one of many coupons coming out with the new barcodes on them. My understanding is that the new barcodes are going to stop alot of fraud when those that know how cannot do it any longer. Not sure when computer/register updates are going to start in our area on accepting the new barcodes. Hope that helps. =)
Hi LeAnn - Do I have this correct? The coupons we have been using have both bar codes on them, but the new one hasn't been activiates.
ReplyDeleteThis DG just has the new version only?
I personally welcome the new coupon barcodes. From my understanding, they can code more info on them - even the expiration date. I would think it will make it much easier for cashiers. (I can't imagine having to visually check for the expiration date when checking someone out)
I hope the retailers in this area upgrade their systems, or I forsee quite a few problems.
The register at Dierbergs also did not read the new barcode. She manually entered it as well. I hate looking like a shady couponer though :( I hope the registers get updated soon too.
