Walgreens $5 Scenario - Week of 11/06/11
The most cost effective way to shop at Walgreens is to roll Register Rewards - spend Register Rewards on products that trigger more.
I suggest checking out at the Cosmetic Counter. Multiple transaction always go smoother at a less busy register.
If you are following my $5 Scenario's you have a $2 Colgate-Palmolive and $2 Ricola Register Reward to start this week's shopping.
Check out all of this week's Walgreens Deals.
NOTE: Word is, some store are now limiting the number of sale items you can purchase and the number of transactions allowed. Check with the staff at your store before you shop.

How can you use both RR's on this? There are 6 total items and 5 of them have MC's used on them. You will only be able to use 1 RR's because that counts as a MC. Unless Im missing something. Please explain
Totally off-topic, but I knew lots of people would see it here. Aldi on S. Grand has ALL pumpkins for $0.99! They're medium to big pumpkins, so not the absolute best for baking, but they work fine in muffins, etc. I'm not sure how the pumpkin puree would be for pie, but it's worked great for everything else I've used it for. :)

ReplyDeleteOpps! My mistake. Need a filler on that transaction. Thanks for cathcing that.
@Courtney
ReplyDeleteThanks, Courtney - I've never used a pumpkin for anything but carving. Someday I'll have to try cooking with one,
OOOHHHH, and candy corn (22 oz bag) is $0.10. That's not a typo--TEN CENTS! :) :)
ReplyDeleteJeri, I found a great procedure for roasting pumpkins whole. I tried it a week ago and it was so much easier than trying to cut them in pieces first. See here for two methods for cooking pumpkins: http://moneysavingmom.com/2011/10/how-to-cook-a-pumpkin-oven-and-crock-pot-methods.html
The Blistex reward IS printing as $2, FYI. And the little cans of Clabber Girl are so cute! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat is the secret to getting the RR reward. I see you posting often filler item to get RR reward although this week I did your $5 scenerio with some exception and got everthing.

ReplyDeleteGreat Shopping!
I include fillers when necessary because Walgreens registers are programed not to accept more manufacturer coupons than items purchase, and RR are conssidered manf. coupons.
expample: You purchase (2) items and have a manf. coupon to use on both of them. You also want to pay with them with a RR you had from a previous transaction. The register won't accept (2) coupons and a RR on (2) items. Add a small filler and then you can use both coupons and the RR.
@Holly Stoehner
ReplyDeleteHi Holly - To get RRs you need to purchase the size specified in the ad. Sometimes a RR might trigger on another size, but you're lucky when it does.
