  1. Has anyone tried the red gold salsa? How does it compare to the Aldi brand salsa?

    1. Red Gold salsa is a shade blander and more watery than what they carry at Aldi, but it'll do for us at $1 a jar (unless the 'mild' variety is all that's available, in which case we pass).

  2. We've been happy with mild and medium Red Gold salsa. If you go to Red Gold's product site, you can get a coupon for tomatoes +chiles (if they're included would be a great deal). Eve

    1. Thanks, I need to pick up salsa for my super bowl party, so this helps!

    2. Hi Eve - I can't find the coupon on Red Gold's site. Any hints for what I'm not seeing?

  3. I was at the Tesson Ferry Dierbergs this morning and in the clearance aisle they had GIANT boxes of Frosted Flakes for $2.09 and GIANT boxes of Fruit Loops for $1.89. I had $1 off 3 so my kids will have lots of cereal. They also had the limited edition Smurfs cereal for .99 a box. I didn't have any Post coupons but I got them anyway. We've never had them but if the kids don't like the first box we can donate the rest.

  4. Haha...got my Red Gold deal today, and the cashier was super excited to go home and try it herself. I spent $3.50 + tax for 6 jars of salsa, 2 cans of tomatoes/chiles and two HUGE cans of diced tomatoes. Could be a moneymaker if you had multiple printers...the Q on the Red Gold site is for $.75/1 of tomatoes/chiles. I like when cashiers ate also fellow couponers. It's how I learned couponing almost 20 years ago! Eve

    1. What about internet coupon policy?

      Delete
    2. The Internet coupon policy on printables in 50% of regular retail price. I don't know what the regular price is on this product. But, I can't remember having a problem with high value IP's at Dierbergs.

  5. You think the Red Gold deal is one per customer? I didn't see any limitation on the ad.

    1. Hi Krista - I haven't heard on this Instant Savings. Ask at the Customer Service desk when you shop.

If it's only one per transaction, you could split your purchase up into two transations, or if it's on per shopping trip, take your first purchase to the car and head back in for the second go around.

    2. Theres not a limit... At least at our Mid Rivers store. We bought ahem... a lot.... 50 RG products in one transaction and it took 25 off instantly just fine. Our cashier was super excited about the deal too.. cracks me up they don't know the simple deals like that one that's in their ad.

    3. I agree Sarah - I don't think most cashiers (at any store) look at the ad. You would think they would.

  6. Don't forget the Red Gold Ketchup. It is wonderful.

    1. I agree Red Gold Ketchup is very good. My family is Ketchup snobs. They wouldn't eat anything but Heinz. I bought a bottle of Red Gold, and no one said a word about a different brand.

  7. Darn, that Red Gold coupon says it's ondly valid AR, IN, KS, KY, MN, MO, MS, OH, OK, TN, TX, VA, WI markets only. I live in IL. Why would it only be valid in those states?
I printed it out to see what the coupon said and there is nothing printed on the coupon about which states you can use it in.
Here is the link I found.

    1. Thanks for the link! I coulnd't find it.

When printed the coupon makes no mention of state restricitons. I would use it if I lived in IL.

  8. You can do multiple Red Gold deals per transaction. My hubby is making a vat of spaghetti sauce...I did 4 deals at once! Even the 32 oz. jars of crushed, whole, etc are part of the deal and 10/$10.
