  2. When I do the math the Brooks Chili Beans are $.43/2 after the tripled coupon ~~ so $.21 and $.22 each.

    1. The bad thing about the Brooks is that the coupon states DO NO DOUBLE. I wanted to do this deal, but i don't want to try it now

    2. I bought the Brooks chili beans and the coupon tripled just fine. I did have problems using the Ortega coupon on the taco seasoning. It did not scan, but the cashier verified I had bought the correct products and gave me credit. 6 beans and 6 taco seasonings = $1.59!! Great deal.

It is my theory ~~ right or wrong (probably wrong) ~~ that company print the "do not double" so they aren't responsible for the doubling (or tripling) costs.

    3. I too had no problems with the Brooks Beans coupon tripling. You idea, KC of why companies put do not double on coupons could be correct.

Don't be afraid to try a deal. When something doesn't work out like I had hoped it would, I have not problem telling the cashier that I've decided not to buy the product. It doesn't happen often, but the few times I've told a cashier I changed my mind on buying a product, they gladly take the product back and deduct it from my bill.

    4. KC - Thanks for catching my mistake. I'll change the post.

    5. I simply cannot find the Brooks coupon, and I get the StL Post. What publication do you receive?

    6. Hi Stacey - Yes, it was in the Post-Dispatch insert. The cream of Wheat ad and coupon was on the back side of the sheet it was on.

If you don't have it yours, look at the spine of the insert. They list there which papers the insert was in. I know I sometime get the insert that was suppose to be in the Belleville paper or somewhere else.

  3. A few more Dierbergs finds...

Smart Balance spreadable butter is on sale for $1.50 (-.50 coupon tripled from 9/30 SS) = FREE
Small sizes of Pilsbury cresent rolls and cinnamon rolls on sale for $1.25 (-.40/2 coupon tripled) = .65 each
Pumpkin flavored Philadelphia Cream Cheese on sale for $2.29 (.50 coupon tripled) = .79
North Star ice cream bars on sale for $2.29. Pumpkin flavor on sale for $2. (*North Star coupon does not automatically triple, but the cashier fixed it.)
Small size of Dawn dish soap is $1.59 (same as Schnucks)

Also, the cashier did not seem to be fully aware the triple coupon thing was happening. They got the details at the service counter, but it doesn't seem they were well informed.

    1. thanks for the info on the smart balance. I checked the price of it at schnucks today. I think it was around $3.59-$3.89. I will get it at dierbergs tomorrow!

  4. I had a Praire Farms coupon this am that also read "do not double"...and the cashier wouldn't double or triple it! So the product returned to the shelf. I know that coupon has doubled in the past...I had missed the fine print!

    1. Hi db - Did the register not triple, or did the cashier make the decision not to triple it? Good for you for leaving the product at the store.

    2. I had the same problem with the PF coupon. The register didn't triple it, I was watching and noticed and asked about it, and she (the manager/trainer--my cashier was new so she came to 'help') inspected the coupon and saw "do not double" and said that was why. I have had PF coupons double there on a regular basis in the past, I always figured that it was Dierbergs who "doubled" and PF just pays the face value of the coupon...didn't feel like arguing though. Frustrating.

    3. Dierbergs policy is not to double or triple in this case a coupon that states not to, although the register double automatically on most coupons.

These Prairie Farms coupons cause problems. I wonder if we all should starting emailing Prairie Farms and complain that thier coupons don't really work well at most stores and it reflects poorly on their company.

  5. The Muir Glen Tomatoes are 2/$3 at Dierberg's making them FREE after the $.50 internet printable. The link is in one of the earlier Schnuck's post.

  6. Hi All - Thanks for the price info. I'm posting a Dierbergs Price Check so no one misses those great deals.

  7. The Westpac coupons tripled over the price of the item to $1.50, so I got 63 cents worth of overage. It helped pay for the Ortega refried beans I had in my order. FYI, the Ortega coupon did not scan, but the cashier put it in manually
