  1. I made my plan this morning. I'm bummed that they don't have good deodorant brands on sale this year. I usually pick up 18 sticks for the year. I guess I'm going to go back to buying them at Sams. At least I can still get a good deal on toothpaste!

  2. There is a booklet at walgreens that has a $1.coupon for the dream shot, check the makeup counter.

    1. Thanks, pixie_bit! I had just picked up that coupon book, but hadn't even looked at it yet.

    2. The same book has $1 off Almay Intense I-Color Smokey-I Trio as well.

  3. There was also a 50% off Dream Water in the 10/7 Parade. I'm pretty sure it was right next to the Dr. Teal's coupon.

    1. Thanks! No coupon in my 10/7 Parade Mag. from the St Louis Post-Dispatch. Was yours in the Post-Dispatch or from another paper?

    2. The Dream Water coupon was in my 9/30 Parade

    3. Well, Parade didn't like my neighborhood enough to include that coupon. Thanks for you info.

  4. Do you get points before coupons or after coupons. If I buy $50 worth of products but I use coupons to bring it down to $25, do I get 50 points per dollar or 10 points per dollar?

    1. So far, with the new point system, the only coupons that effect how many points you earn are Walgreens store coupons.

If you are using manf. coupon or RR to pay for the product it should effect it.

    2. I had this issue this past weekend on the get 5000pts when you spend $30. I used no store cpns only man cpns and did not get my points. I was told by a manager that it was because my total
was not $30 at the end. Never had this problem on the other deals like that one. I returned almost everything I bought. Don't know about others but I'm getting more and more discouraged from shopping at wags and finding I enjoy shopping at cvs a lot more. Plus the deals are easier to figure out and you don't have to buy multiples most of the time.

    3. Hi nskcsf - I'm so tired of the "it's because you used coupons" response. I'm to the point where if the cashier gave me back the wrong amount of money when making change, I wouldn't be surprised if managers response was, "it's becuase you used coupons."

Here is what Jill Cataldo posted on her site abouth this issue:
      http://jillcataldo.com/node/23750

She sent an inquiry to Walgreens and they responded - Manufacturer coupons do not affect the eligible spend on thershold offers.

I too would much rather shop at CVS - it's so much easier.

    4. I agree 100%. Too much work to coupon at WAGS anymore. I live in St Charles, and the new CVS stores opened at the PERFECT time....just when WAGS went through..."the change".

WAGS used to be my #1 store...now I'm so fed up...not even these Black friday RR deals can bring me back. Yes I could go from store to store rolling the deals for this sale...but its not even worth the work for me anymore. CVS is just so amazing and at my CVS they welcome q poners.....I don't have to worry about "filler itmes" anymore, and because of their well-designed xtra bucks program, the stock is there longer because of the limits on the deals :) You know, when I have a favorite couponing store, I also spend my money there on things I don't have coupons for....CVS has my business as #1...Target #2 in the drug store catagory. I do not step foot in Wags anymore with one exception...if something I need is 100% FREE with MQ....then I would get it, but never purchase anything else there than that.

    5. Jeri,
Thanks for the link for the response from Wags. Guess I need to print it and always have it with me. Not that I'm going to be shopping their too much anymore. I told the manager who did my return how unhappy I was with the program and how it has really become a big hassle.

    6. The managers must not get any info passed down to them on how their system works. Way too many managers are just winging it.

I would imagine, many customers believe the "you used coupons" answer. Good for you for returning the products.

  5. A few more deals that I found:

Crest Toothpaste (buy 2) 2.99 each
    get 3000 points
    use (2) $0.75/1 10-28 PG = $0.75 each

    Reach Toothbrushes 2/$5
    get 3000 points
    use $1/2 printable @ http://www.reachbrand.com/special-offer
    = $0.50 each

  6. Does anyone know if the sale and rr will start @ midnight Wednesday? I know it did last yr. This is at a 24 hr store.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I've never been a midnight shopper, but I think on a "normal" week the deals start at midnight. You might want to call the store you shop and confirm that is what will happen on Thrus.

      Delete
    2. The deals do start at midnight. However, the Catalina machine updates at about that time. It makes a noticeable clicking. Also the green light should be on. Once the update has occurred it is ready to print. If you buy something before the update, you may hear "you bought it with coupons, so it doesn't work" line. Knowledgeable managers and cashiers can let you know if the update has happened. Good luck!

  7. Thanks for the info.Being a night person it is easier for me to go @ 12 then try to wake up super early. Just hope my 19 yr old gets home with the car @ midnight. I know last year it was packed and we did have to wait a few minutes for updates. Wag has changed so much I just wasn't sure.

    1. I hope your teen got home in time for you to head to Walgreens.

Do you ever get over being just a little nervous when the kids are out in the evening? No matter how old they get.

    2. My Wags did not open unil 9, not a 24 hr store, I was the 1st person in. Got everything on my list spent $60 but got $410 worth of stuff. Have everything that I need for presents...paper, bags, tape, tags, and bows, toilet paper, Welchs juice, and lots of other things...my girls arn't going to need hair bands for a while, they are dancers and lose them all the time plus I some make up presents for my girls that they will be excited to get. I kept getting cpns for $10 off $35, I refigured quite a few of my deals to make them work. Got many things that I was not planning on getting. FEELING GOOD TONIGHT about this shopping trip:):):) Now on to Target....not so sure about this one.....

  8. Got all the freebies I was interested in at the South County Wags early Thurs morning. They had all of the items on an end cap near the pharmacy. I didnt get a receipt so couldnt tell how many BW points I got, was supposed to get 10 pts for every $1.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. For some reason the reciepts are not showing your total points. Before the total it will say what you earned but no running total. I asked why and no one knew. Hopefully it's not going to be a issue.
