  1. speaking of the Nivea deal in this post...usually when you have a MQ that is buy "This"...get "that" free....the coupon attaches to both items...and using a MQ to lower the "This" doesn't work.

Why would it work here? Is CVS different? I have never seen anything posted in any deals on any sites that have ever shown CVS to accept this doubling up of MQs on product.

    1. CVS allows 1 MQ per item on a B1G1: http://www.cvs.com/bizcontent/general/help/coupon-policy.pdf

So, the $3MQ attaches to the B1 and the $2.99 (max value) applies to the G1 item. I did this deal this morning with no beeps, however, I end up getting with Shaving Balm for $6.99 since my store didn't have the After Shave Gel & Moisturizer (still a MM with the 20%) HTH.

    2. Thanks, Carrie on confirming this deal work and the coupons don't beep.

Anonymous - I agree with you. Many times a B1G1 coupon attaches to both item. But, from my experience, I've also found CVS is very good about accepting coupons and cashiers pushing through a coupon that might beep in this situation.

  2. In reply...on one point I agree...if a STORE is having a B1G1 sale, then yes, you can use a MQ for each item (in most stores at least). In this instance...this is not what I'm talking about. The COUPON is a b1g1..not the sale. In 99.9% of stores, they take a b1g1 coupon as a MQ on both items...it attaches to both and using another MQ is doubling MQs on items and a big no no...in CVS's case...they are super nice and let things slide that are not the "norm".

I feel a little strange about this one, I try to practice couponing as ethically as I can with the stores reimbursment in mind. But, if it didn't beep...chances are all good. I do find it odd though that on no other blogs or sites in this case or EVER have I seen it advertised to use a B1G1 MQ and stack it with another MQ on the same 2 items...before today I've only seen it talked about as a major no-not-ever type of senario. This is with 5+ years behind me, not the oldest couponer out there but I have some experiance. Also, I don't know how good I feel about banking on casheirs at CVS "pushing" something thru that I am borderline questioning or just know that its not the way things are done.

So, all I'm saying is...if we are going to start expecting CVS to take a B1G1 MQ and also another MQ on one of the items that are covered the the B1G1 Q....then I guess the matchups are going to start to show many more money makers for us stl couponers than for cvs couponers in other areas and states

  3. Anonymous, I understand your concern and when I started couponing, I had the same thought. To ensure I was following CVS' coupon policy, I had confirmed with a store manager. In the past, I've had B1G1 coupons beep (like the Pantene B1G1) when using with another MQ, but the cashier and even a manager, always pushed it through. In this regard, I feel I've done my due diligence in following the store policies.

BTW, there are also other forums out there that will reflect the usage of a B1G1 + MQ for CVS :)
