Post Storm Roll Call - June 1st

Post Storm Roll Call - June 1, 2013

We spent some time in the basement last night, but our City neighborhood seems to have escaped any damage.  I hope everyone else is safe and damage free at their house.

Please chime in on what happened in your neighborhood.

  1. South County survived, from what I can tell. Limited power outages, no major storm damage. The cell that went over us didn't form any tornadoes.

  2. All good here in Kirkwood. Just rain, hardly any wind. The kitties got put in the basement just in case. My parents visiting from Florida got a taste of our crappy spring weather, they're probably ready to go back home.

    1. Your parents should be familiar with crappy weather. I'm sure they have road out a hurricane or two. I think I would prefer midwest weather to that - at least the threat doesn't last for hours (unless you live in Oklahoma.)

    2. I was in Florida for Hurricane Jeanne several years ago and it was nothing. Our weather scares me a lot more.

  3. A bunch of family in St. Charles has no power, some tree damage, but nothing major. We had nothing but rain and lightning on the north end of O'Fallon. Scary stuff, though!

    1. Hi Kelly - Yes, it was a little scary last night. Power outages are never fun, but better than a house ripped apart.

  4. UMSL area is okay in spots. However, UMSL graduations today for Hazelwood school district are cancelled today due to UMSL being one of the few not having any power. Thank GOD we were spared of damage and/or power outages this time around.

    1. Hi Courtney - What is it with North County and tornadoes? You would think North County was in Oklahoma the way the weather has hit the last few years.

    2. Your guess is as good as mine Jeri. I had to call & check on my brother & former SIL. He's fine (no damage) but she & my nephew haven't had power since 7:30 last night. His graduation has been postponed @ UMSL till 2morrow. North County seems to get most it not ALL of the severe weather that comes by. Keep those folks in your prayers.

  5. Thank God, no damage at my house in Maryland Heights this time (was in the path of the April 22, 2011 tornado).
I drove through many areas trying to coupon this morning :) Lots of stores without power. Target in Bridgeton has holes in the roof and flooding. It was closed this morning. LOTS of tree damage in Earth City. Many random buildings with damage by Rams park.
