Aldi Price Check - Watermellon, Strawberries + More

May 18, 2009

I use Aldi's prices on dairy and fresh produce as a benchmark. Since fresh produce prices fluctuate so much, it's hard to tell what's a good deal. If a grocery store is advertising a better price than Alid, that's when I would buy it at that store.

If you haven't shopped at Aldi, or it has been a while:1. Make sure you have a quarter to unlock a shopping cart. The carts are like luggage carts at the airport. You rent them for a quarter, and you get your quarter back when you return the cart.
2. Take your own bags. Aldi does not provide free bags for your groceries.
3. Aldis now accepts debit cards.
4. Aldis does not accept coupons.

  1. Thanks so much for posting these each week. It is so nice to see strawberries, cantaloupes, and watermelons going down in price.

  2. Hey Jeri...what a great idea to keep a price list of Aldi prices for produce & staple items. It makes it so much easier to compare. I will have to do that by me as my Aldi prices seem higher here then by you :(
