If you haven't shopped at Aldi, or it has been a while:1. Make sure you have a quarter to unlock a shopping cart. The carts are like luggage carts at the airport. You rent them for a quarter, and you get your quarter back when you return the cart.
2. Take your own bags. Aldi does not provide free bags for your groceries.
3. Aldis now accepts debit cards.
4. Aldis does not accept coupons.
Wow some great produce prices! I should really get some bluberries to freeze! Also, grapes freeze well and are very tasty on those hot days - like mini popsicles!
ReplyDeleteJen - I froze grapes last summer and the kids loved them. I had forgotten about that trick. Thanks for reminding me.
ReplyDeleteFinally, yesterday my husband brought me to Aldi at Gravois because of the 89cents blueberries!LOL. Told him that I will freeze them for him. He loves to mix frozen blueberries in his own special made smoothies. We bought 5 pints, I washed them and dried them using paper towels (got lots of these now for I bought some at Target for 24cents :) and used one of the Hefty one gallon bag when they got on sale at ShopNSave weeks ago on a Coupon Thursday to freeze them. :) My thanks to the great tips on your site, Ms. Jeri! And oh, we also got bananas and 2 gallons of milk, his favorites as well! :) Btw, speaking of freezing, years ago, I accidentally frozen up peeled small slices of watermelon. Just like your and Jen's frozen grapes (which I still have to try), they turned up tasting like popsicles. Just make sure to finish eating them up BEFORE they thaw. And also, frozen blueberries go well with vanilla yogurt (30cents or less Prairie yogurt at SNS, yummier! :)
ReplyDeletecoupon.girl - I love the picture you painted. Now, if only I could find a great deal on a freezer.
ReplyDeleteLOL. My husband is already afraid of me going to ask him for a bigger fridge with a huge freezer if I find a coupon for it! hahaha.:)
