Aldi Price Check - Peaches, Plum, Sweet Corn + More

August 30, 2009

Cheese prices increased at Aldi this week, but not milk. I'm not sure I understand the dairy industry and pricing. Overall, I was disappointed with Aldi's prices this week on produce. I've gotten some great buys at Sappington Farmers' Market lately so in comparison it doesn't seem a good as it use to.

If you haven't shopped at Aldi, or it has been a while:1. Make sure you have a quarter to unlock a shopping cart. The carts are like luggage carts at the airport. You rent them for a quarter, and you get your quarter back when you return the cart.
2. Take your own bags. Aldi does not provide free bags for your groceries.
3. Aldis now accepts debit cards.
4. Aldis does not accept coupons.

  1. I wish I had read this about 2 weeks ago. I had never been to Aldi before and wanted to save a little money but I didn't know about the quarter for the cart, the no-bag thing or that they didn't take credit even if it's on a checking card. I had to leave 2 weeks worth of groceries at the check out... :(

  2. Yes, Aldi has some quirks to get use to. But they do have good prices once you figure out how to shop there.
