Edit - Additional information on instant savings and rebates.
I just got back from Office Depot. Their ad this week left more questions than it answered.

Instant savings: The items listed as free after instant savings will ring up free if you buy anything else. A manager told me instant savings were usually with a $10 purchase, but the items listed free after instant savings this week were ringing up free if you purchased anything else.

Rebates of Mail-in Savings: When you purchase these items a rebate form will print with your receipt. A copy of your receipt is acceptable to send in with the form.

If you have any questions, make sure you ask them a manager or clerk before you shop.

  1. Wouldn't we need an original receipt to submit for each rebate? If they're all in one receipt, how can we submit an original receipt for each rebate? Hope you got what I meant!?! :I

  2. Questions again, sorry. What does "Free, after $___ Mail-in Savings Visa Prepaid Card" mean? And is the calculator excluded from the $10 of $40? The coupon said something about not valid for purchase of "No. 4" described items. Sorry I am so new to Office Depot's any kind of coupon discount or rebate. Thanks a lot as always! :)

  3. I found the rebate form for the calculator on Office Depot's site but cant find a form for the Sharpies. The calculator form says you can send the original receipt or a photocopy. But then it also says "All qualified items must be listed on the same receipt". So does that mean you have to buy the calculator and the Sharpies in the same trip?

  4. coupon.girl and CJ - I just got back from Office Depot and have some of the answers to your questions. I put additional comments in the post. I haven't shopped at Office Depot much, so all this free and mail-in savings is also new to me.

I think the mail-in saving Visa prepaid card is a visa gift card, at least I've seen that kind of rebate from AT&T before.

I asked the manager I talked to today about the scenario I posted and he told me it would work. But coupon.girl, I can see why you are concern about the #4 exclusion. I'm not sure if a calculator is concidered an piece of electtronic equipment any more or not.

Why does Office Depot have to make this so confusing? It is worse than Walgreens! Sorry I don't have all the answers for you.
