If you haven't shopped at Aldi, or it has been a while:1. Make sure you have a quarter to unlock a shopping cart. The carts are like luggage carts at the airport. You rent them for a quarter, and you get your quarter back when you return the cart.
2. Take your own bags. Aldi does not provide free bags for your groceries.
3. Aldis now accepts debit cards.
4. Aldis does not accept coupons.

  1. Saturday, I grabbed the ad that begins this week and noticed the cooked burger. Now which Aldi can I find red onions?

  2. Kas - I've never bought meat at Aldi. How is the quality? I don't think I've ever seen red onions at the Aldi I shop at.

  3. Jeri- My past purchases of hamburger at Aldi was when the packages were marked down for a quick sale. Nothing bad, just overall the prices of Aldi factory packed meat ain't a bargain. Best store for finding cheap packs of 'soon to expire' fresh meat is the one located at Olive and North and South Rd.

SnS effective price of $1.50 lb. for ground round on Thursday is a real good buy. However, what I've seen in the upcoming ad; screams we just went through a Holiday.

  4. My error on the price of burger this Thursday. Actual price will be $1.60 per lb. Also there is a Sutter Home $2 mail-in rebate (expires 9/30/09) that good on a beef purchase of $4 or greater. It's part of a fold-up sheet that comes and goes at stores.

  5. Kas - I've also found better meat prices at the the three "big grocery stores" than Aldi. I think that is why now I never give the meat case a second glance.

Thanks for the info on the Sutter Home rebate. I've not seen that one, but will be looking for it now.
