Coupon Preview 10/4/09

Sunday's St Louis Post-Dispatch has Three coupon inserts - a SmartSource, a RedPlum and a General Mills.

Some of my favorite coupons this week:
  • $3 Impruv Dry Skin are Solution
  • $2 Glade Fragrance Collection multi-wick candle
  • $2 off 2 Kotex Pads
  • $2 off 2 Oust
  • $2 off 10 SoyJoy single bars
  • $1.50 Dove Conditioner
  • $1 Dove Hair Care Product
  • $1 Dove Deodorant
  • $1 Playtex Living Gloves
  • $1 Melitta's Filters
  • $1 Mrs. T's Pierogies
  • $1 Macaroni Grill Dinner Kit
  • $1 Buitoni Refrigerated Pasta or Sauce
  • .50 Minute Rice Product
  • .40 Fleishmann's Yeast
  • .40 Argo Corn Starch
  • .40 Skippy Peanut Butter
  • .40 Green Giant Steamers

Remember: You want multiple coupons to use when a product is at a rock bottom price. When it's a good coupon insert week, I purchase 4 or 5 papers and sometimes acquire more. At first, I thought it was crazy to spend money to save money. But I've always saved much more than my $1 investment.

DEAL$ and Dollar Tree sell the Sunday Post-Dispatch for $1. The early edition is published on Saturday and it includes all the coupon inserts. And they usually still have Sunday papers left on Monday. Find the Deal$ or Dollar Tree closest to you.

  1. I'm always amazed at how few coupons the St Louis area gets compared to other areas. My pack of SmartSource coups today was only half of what I've seen posted on other blogs. At least we got the Glade candles and Tidy Cat. I'll buy 1 or 2 extra papers just for those two.

  2. Given that the up coming Wags ad looks lite on looping and such, the MH coffee might be a decent stock up item. Go to coupon.com and there's a 'limited' $1.00/2 MQ (expires 11/2/09) that will bring the price down to $11.98/2 Not the best price; so one may wait to see if the grocery chains offer a Kraft promo in the near future.

  3. CJ - I've quit looking at the coupon previews from other parts of the country - too depressing. I'm really amazed we can save as much money as we do here in St Louis since it's not the most competitive market and the the low value coupons we get.

kas - Thanks, I've added Maxwell House to my Walgreens post. It's not a bad idea for someone who has a ton of $ in RR.

  4. Schnucks on Telegraph had $0.99 Sunday papers this week. It origianally rang up incorrectly but the cashier fixed it and alerted the manager.

  5. Jeri - I picked up a paper at Walgreens this morning and found it had an additional 40 coupons that my home delivered edition didnt have. So either it was just a mistake with my paper, or I've been getting gipped all this time by having the paper delivered.

  6. Anonymous - I've heard Schnucks sometimes sells the Sunday paper for $1, but I've never seen it at my store. Is it just on Saturday, or just at some store, or some weeks? Does anyone know?

CJ - I read you comment and had to go check my inserts. My inserts are delivered on Sunday with the rest of the Sunday paper. I had the same set as I purchaed in the paper on Saturday. I'm also going to pick up a few more papers and will check them also.

Is anyone elses early delivered inserts short coupons, or is CJ getting picked on?

  7. My friend who gets the paper home delivered and also picks up copy at Wags got all the coupons I didnt get (the orange covered SmartSource) in both editions. So I think I just got shorted this week. Good thing the Tidy Cat and Glade candles coupons were in another insert, I got those.

  8. CJ - I'm sorry you got shorted but glad it's not going to be an on going problem.
