  1. Can you do the general mills deal twice in the same transaction? Spend $50, get $20 back?

    ReplyDelete
  2. That would be cool, wouldn't it? If anyone finds out, please let us know! Also, I think the Wanchai Ferry deal is the frozen dinners, not the boxed kits, which actually makes it a better deal as there are $1.50/1 printables and $1.50/1 and $2/1 insert cpns out for these.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Is there a limit on how many of the same coupons you can use? example.... buy 4 Wanchai and use 4 $1.50 coupons. Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  4. Why do these great deals always come out after I've already bought the items? I have a whole house full of General Mills products, I dont have room for more!

    ReplyDelete
  5. Tara - I talked to SNS on the phone and they are looking into if it will Cat. will print twice if you purchase $50 of GM products. I'll let everyone know what I find out.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Jen - I wish it was the frozen Wanchai on sale. I went to SNS to confirm which one was on sale and it's the box kits. The frozen bags are selling for $7.98.

The ad is hard to distiquish which on is on sale. I think the key is the size. Frozen bags are 24 oz. and the boxes are less than the size.

  7. Anonymous - I know of no limit on the number of like coupon you can use. I know I've used six like coupons in the past with no problems.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I'm a little tired of the same stuff on sale every week, too. HOWEVER, I do love that I've been buying Yo-Plus for months for $1, just about every week. Kelly

    ReplyDelete
  9. I'm right there with you Kelly. I've got my freezer so full of free Green Giant vegetables I don't think I'll have any space for the cheap ice cream sandwiches on sale at Dierbergs.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Did we ever find out if the Cat deal works twice in a single transaction? That would be good to know for today's $10/$50 deal.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Jen - I had to call SNS back this morning because I hadn't heard back from them.

Good news! Purchase $50 or more of GM products and get (2) $10 Cat. coupons. The most Cat. coupons for this deal that will print in one trasnaction is two.

I wouldn't think capping at (2) coupons would be a problem for a coupon shopper. Do two transactions at SNS on Thursday if you're going to purchase more than $50.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Woohoo! Thanks - that means I'll need to make another trip because with the cat combined with $10/$50 and the $5/50 entertainment book coupon - that's a lot of free stuff!

  13. I got denied on two IP coupons again. $1 off $1.98 Cheerios. I thought the cashier might take them because it was two cents difference, but no. I asked if she could adjust it down and that was a no too. I'm going to have to stop planning my trips with these coups. It appears as though the cashiers at my store got training on this recently and also have pages with the rules taped up at their registers.

But my trip wasn't all bad. In addition to the $10 Cat I got a surprise $2 Cat from Pillsbury. I bought 4 Pillsbury products (that also counted toward the GM Cat) so this seems to line up with the Cat deal at Schnucks.

Spent $27 on $55 of groceries and walked out with $12 in Cats.

  14. My first time coupon shopping today at SNS. Thank you so much for your list! I spent $26.86 and got the $10 Cat. One strange thing about tax...they added .46 @1.25 and subtracted .69 @6.85, so I was given credit on the tax?? They took my $1 IP on the Cherrios.
    Thanks again!

Grab this week Dierbergs Extra ad and cut out the $3.00 MQ on the front

    B6 $8.58 * .8 = $6.87 - 3.00 = $3.87/6

    $.65 a jar when you B6

  16. em - Today, I used two Cheerio $1 IP's and the clerk didn't bat an eye. You must have the worst luck with IP's.

I can't imagine a clerk paying enough attention to what the price rang up at and then figuring if the IP is over half of it. Have you ever spoke with the store manager about the IP situation. It's not defined if it's half of regular price or the sale price. You should come shop at Judy's or my store.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Judy - Great job on your first time couponing. You'll never pay full price again. :)

I can't figure out the tax at SNS either, but sometimes I've seen it come up negative, so I don't even think about it. We are lucky in Missouri that we don't pay sales tax on the coupon value.

    ReplyDelete
  18. kas - I saw that coupon too as I was running between stores today. I'm so glad I stopped at Dierbergs first.

I really wish they would put the Xtra ad online. Dierbergs is the least convenient store location wise for me, so it's not like I want to make the extra trip fro the Xtra ad. But when they have a geat deal in it ....

    ReplyDelete
  19. Maybe I just have bad luck with cashiers. I usually don't have to "cashier shop" anywhere other than Target, but maybe that's changing. Today she took my stack of coupons and sorted them into regular and IP, scanned all the pre-printed ones, then went through each individual IP and verified the purchase price on the screen before scanning the coupon. Took forever.

Then when I pointed out that she missed one, she denied it, even though it was plainly sitting in front of her away from all the other coupons. I told her I didn't see one for .50 on the screen and she got all huffy and scanned it. Then she told me she wishes they would stop accepting all IP coupons.

I've never spoken with the manager about it, but I plan on writing them a letter explaining my dissatisfaction with the policy and how they are losing part of my business by not accepting those coupons. I know it won't result in anything, but the policy is stupid and they need to be told it is stupid.

  20. Jeri,

Thanks as always for the great lists. I spent a total of $40 in two transactions (for a ton of stuff) and have $12 in Cats for next week. I used two of Cheerios IPs at different stores and had no problems. One cashier even asked me where she could find two of the coupons.

Even though I already had many of these products, I thought it was a nice variety that my family will eat (better than more fattening cookies!)

    Thanks!

    Maureen

    ReplyDelete
  21. em - I keep thinking about you having problems with IPs and everyone else not. Do you shop when the store is slow?

It shouldn't make any difference, but with a line at the checkout the cahsier seem to just want to get on to the next customer.

If you write SNS and hear back about their policy please keep us posted.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Great job Maureen! I too purchased products that I already had, but it will be a long time before I "need" them again.

    ReplyDelete
  23. The last two times, I've gone in the morning around 9 or 10. There were customers behind me both times. I think the cashiers were truly just trying to follow the rules they've been given, which I cannot fault them for.

After coupon shopping for a while, there is very little I buy because we need it immediately. The stockpile mindset takes over. My biggest questions now are how much is enough and how cheap does something have to be before I decide it's too good a deal to pass up. Fortunately, my husband keeps me in check, lest I die under an avalanche of free toothbrushes.

    ReplyDelete
  24. em - Posting my $50 budget keeps me in check on how much I spend. I've gotten to the point unless a dental care item is a money-maker I don't bother. Although, I had several huge bags of goodies to leave out for the Girl Scout's April Showers last year.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I use most of my IPs at Schnucks and Dierbergs to avoid any problems at Shop n Save. Last night I did use a .55 IP for Snapple priced at 1.18 and it went through fine even though it made the price a little less than half.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Now it more important to grab that Dierberg ad if you want cheap jars of Heinz Gravy. This MQ expires 10/19/09

Next week SnS ad has this deal. B$15 in Heinz products and receive a $5 cat.

    Gravy $4/3 so B12 jars

    $16.00 - (3.00 *2) = $10.00/12 or $.83 a jar

    ReplyDelete
  27. Wow, I realize the five buck wasn't subtracted.

    $10.00 - 5.00 = $5.00/12 = $.42 a jar

    ReplyDelete
  28. kas - I was excited when I saw SNS was going to have a Cat on Heinz and Dierbergs had the coupon. Then, I realised the expiration date on the coupon.

Do you know if this Heinz Cat will print on Sunday at SNS?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Jeri- The promotion is not in the bi-weekly ad that began today. So it's a YMMV. One can try today and cancel. Overall, the good buys between the two ads are on the lite side.

    ReplyDelete
  30. kas, I agree. I wasn't impressed with the SNS ad for next week. I might keep my $10 Cat to spend the following week.
