Walgreens Deals - Week of 12/27/09

Sale prices good December 27, 2009 - January 2, 2010

No freebies this week. It has been a long time since there wasn't at least one free item you could pick up at Walgreens. I hope this is not going to be the trend for 2010.

Remember, you can roll Register Rewards. Take a look at Quick Tip - Using Walgreens Register Rewards.

I highlight only the best deals. Take a look at Walgreens' full ad here (available on Sunday) or the ad scan at I Heart Wags.

  2. Chunky Soup is on sale 2/$3. There are $1.50/2 printables at http://www.campbellkitchen.com/Coupon.aspx making them 3/$3. One coupon can be used now and there are others that can be used in Feb, March and April. Print them now for good sales in the upcoming months. You should be able to print 2 of each coupon.

  3. Hi kas, Skim Milk at the Walgreens I shop at in the city is running $2.79 and 2% is a little more. Is milk prices always cheaper in Il?

I'll add Campbell's Chunky to the post.

  5. Hi Jeri, The dairy lobby has great influence in Jeff City. There has been a floor on the price for decades and IMHO, not helpful for the consumer. Compare to other states, we aren't that bad in price. Look how some from Il come over to MO to fill up at the pump. Even Wags price of milk in Iowa has risen above our local price for 2%, as I noticed in a recent Davenport ad.

Now going back awhile, Hart Dairy use to sell considerable amount of milk in a setting like those Wonder Bread outlets. Some stores were free standing and had a drive up windows. When Hart Dairy management decided to monopoly the market by selling real cheap, the wrath of Jeff City came down hard. I've even been told by a Kroger GM, he would sell at the price of the Indianapolis stores, except that would step on toes. Finally, well at least the WI dairy lobby now lets consumers buy maragine without leaving that state.

  6. Just found out that Lucky Charms (my favorite!)are included in the General Mills $2 RR deal. I didnt know that the other day and bought Cinnamon Toast Crunch instead because I had coups for any GM cereal that made them free. I'm thinking of taking the CTC back and exchanging them for Lucky Charms since they are the same price. Does anyone know what Wags does with food that gets returned? Will they throw it away even though its clearly not been opened? I hate for food to be wasted but I'd really rather have Lucky Charms.

  7. Hi CJ - I don't know what Walgreens does with returned food items, but I know the grocery stores restock returns if they are not damaged. I would imagine Walgreens would too.

I would take the CTC back and ask.
