I have never seen so many of one display in a grocery store EVER! There must have been at least 10 displays in the Overland Plaza Schnucks, and that is probably an understatement. There were plenty of coupons there as well. I wasn't sure how many I had to buy to get the catalina, so I could have done better, but still happy with what I bought, which was 9 boxes. Comes out to less than $1 for all 9 boxes, and once I send in my 3rd rebate, it will be a MM.

PS - How did you confirm that one only need purchase 3 to trigger the catalina? If I don't have this baby tonight/tomorrow, I might just have to go back if this is a MM.
Hi Staci - There is one Schnucks in my area that does a really good job of putting the little red signs that advertise Catalina deals. I made the trip to that Schnucks to check it out.

I wish more stores would do a better job with posting the deals.

HI there, just came back from Schnucks(creve coeur) they had only on 3 packs $2 off next visit on Ziplocs no other deal for the same...didn't had any coupons so didn't buy...

ReplyDeleteThe Catalina deal runs through 2/21. I think the regular price is of the Ziplocs are $2.08, so with the .40 coupon and after Cat, the price would be .61 each. Still a great price.
Spice - I was at two stores yesterday, one had a big display with coupons the other one had nothing. I felt like asking them if they had it in the back room. The manager at the store with nothing has told me he dosen't like display clogging up the aisles.
FYI: I went to Oakville Schnucks and the ziplocs were not 1.49 and there were not any displays or coupons. I talked with the manager. He told me the sale starts Monday for the 1.49 price. He said they will keep the coupons at the register because people just come and take all the tear pads. Amy

I got them at the Kirkwood Schnucks today, the display was in the baggie aisle. I should have gone back in and gotten more. Will stop in tomorrow and see if there are any coupons left.
ReplyDeleteI didn't find coupons (T&C or Ellisville) and neither store had the sale priced marked. I did purchase 3 2 $1.49 and used coupons from previous paper. Spent $3 and receive $2 - so $1 for three bags of zip locks!!!

ReplyDeleteI stopped at the store on Loughborough today. They had the display with a sign that said the cashier had the coupon. I questioned if I had seen the info correct, so took another look at the signage. Yes, it said on sale through 1/31 (if I'm reading it correctly). I hope the Oakville manager didn't have the dates mixed up - or maybe the sale continues into next week.
Does anyone know - will the $2 Ziploc catalina still print if you use a $2 Ziploc catalina to pay?

CJ - Yes it rolls. I used one today to buy more Ziploc and received the next Catalina. I've never run into a situation at any of the grocery stores where Catalinas won't roll. I'm not say they always will, but I haven't run into it yet.
ReplyDeleteShannon - The .40 coupons doubled aren't as good as the $1, but they still make a really good deal. Storage bag aren't an item you see at a great price very often.
It said the catalina deal went into February at the Schnucks in Affton yesterday, but didn't see a sale price anywhere of $1.49 or a display.

ReplyDeleteMy neighbor went to Schnucks today and was still able to take advantage of the deal, so I went back this evening to check it out. There are still plenty at the Overland Plaza store and the signs on the display say $0.49 after rebate (not exactly accurate, but same effect). I checked the shelf tag, and it actually states that the sale price is good thru 3/14/10. I bought six more boxes, cashier provided six coupons, they rang up at $1.49 each and I received 2 - $2 catalinas. I also used 2 - $2 Ziploc catalinas on the purchase.

Oh, and Schnucks has there large canisters of oats on sale for $1 each. Haven't seen this price for a while, so thought I'd mention it since I don't remember seeing it in the ad.

I stumbled across this deal today while shopping for a client and I had no idea about the Catalina coupon that would print until another woman whispered to me, use only three coupons at a time and it's a "money maker." I put three back and thanks to her, I found a great deal. She must be a fellow couponer like the rest of us!
