Saved 80% This Week

I received $21 worth of rebates in the mail this week: (2) $5 S. C. Johnson rebates for buying getting paid to buy Ziplock bags, $5 rebate for buying Fleischmann's Yeast (I only paid $1.44 for) and a $6 beer rebate on things I had already purchased. Rebates really help me stretch my grocery budget.

  2. Thank Jeri - your blog makes it so easy to save. I also splurged on baby back ribs - my husband's favorite. I received two rebates from olay this week that were great MM. Just a reminder - there is anouther $15 olay rebate ending next week.

  3. Jeri it looks like you had an awesome week. I only went to Aldis this week because of the pineapples. It was great to take a week off from grocery shopping.

  4. Hi Frugal Free Loader - Thanks for the link.

Hi Maureen - I'm glad it's easy. That's my goal.
Not only does my husband love baby backs but my sons do too. My oldest will be home for Spring Break in a couple of weeks, so I'm saving mine to cook while he's home.

Hi Lynda - I need to take a week off, the freeze is full and the pantry is overflowing. But the good deals just keep coming.

  5. Just curious how long have you been stockpiling? I just started a couple months ago & can't wait until I don't have to go to the store because we are stocked up....slowly getting there w/ the groceries, but we are there w/ toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo/conditioner. Thanks for all you do!

  6. Hi Rachel - I've been stockpiling since October 2008. You will get to the point where you wouldn't have to go to the store but for some perishable items.

At this point I always plan my menu out of the freezer and pantry and only go to the store for the best deals to keep the panty full.

Lynday, how long have you been stockpiling?

  7. I love baby back ribs. I used to own a restaurant and we had them on Wed. and Sat. nights. Customers would call and reserve orders. I still get told that they miss our ribs and want the recipe. I think I may have to go get some, I miss them too!

  8. Hi Judy - The ribs were on sale Thursday only on a one day sale. Hopefully, they will have them on sale again soon.

  9. I need to get to the point where I don't feel like I need to catch every deal.....kinda hard, but I didn't get anymore Kleenex while at Schnucks today...hubby asked if we needed anymore when he went downstairs & saw the stock...LOL I didn't get fruit snacks at Shop n Save either & Walgreens was right next door & I didn't go in there at all. Hopefully I can keep the get a few deals, but try to remind myself I don't need all of them.

  11. Hi Rachel - I found when I set a set up a grocery budget it helped me quit chasing every deal. I only bought the ones that would fit into my budget. Don't worry about missing out on a good deal. They do come around again.

Your Welcome Lisa. I've never cooked with ground turkey before, but I'm considering getting some too.
