Walgreens Coupon Policy

From the SmartSource coupon insert in the 5/16/10 St Louis Post-Dispatch.

Have you ever been told you can't use a manufacturer coupon and a coupon from Walgreens' Monthly Coupon Book on the same item? The ad says you can. The "Additional In-Store Walgreens Coupon" is in Walgreens' May Coupon Book.

Have you ever been told you didn't receive your Register Reward because you used a coupon? Wrong again. They advertise "Your final cost" after coupon and Register Reward.

I'm clipping these ad and won't shop at Walgreens without them. The stores I shop at have been very coupon friendly, but I've heard from many readers that isn't always the case. I encourage everyone to clip these ads and take them with them when they shop at Walgreens.

It is nice to see Walgreens helping bloggers out and writing their own match-ups. Thanks, Walgreens!

  4. Luckily I never have problems stacking a monthly coupon with a regular coupon at the Wags stores I frequent the most. I noticed today that on a B1G1 deal both items now print out for the price and then the free one is taken off at the bottom of the receipt. I like this a lot better than one ringing at 0.00, it makes it better for rebates and for using a coupon on a B1G1 item.

  5. I'm so glad I'm not the only who hopes I hear one of these responses from Walgreens. I have no interest in the Off Clip-On, but I am planning a trip to the Hampton Village store to buy one (with the ad in hand.) Coupon.girl do you need a ride?

Hi CJ - I sure hope all B1G1's at Walgreens will ring up that way in the furture. It does make things easier.

Wish I would have thought of that this morning at the Highland, IL store! I've had a few instances at Walgreens with cashiers not wanting to stack coupons (mainly at the Edwardsville location). Again this morning, the cashier tried to tell me that I could not use a mfg coupon with the coupon from the monthly book. Apparently now these monthly coupons state that they are MFG coupons that can only be used at Wags. I attempted to stay calm and explain to the cashier that the coupon book was in fact a WAGS coupon but she insisted that it has always been that way. NO, it hasn't!! I asked for a manager and he gladly accepted both of the coupons. The cashier was angry and told him he better go talk to the head manager about that!! I'm taking a copy of those ads with me next time to prove that the policy clearly states that both coupons can be used and that she was mis-informed!

  8. Interestingly the Stride gum coupon deal doesn't work out as FREE at some Wags....I had one cashier tell me that I had to purchase the regular Stride gum and then the Stride Shift gum to make the coupon work and take my bill to 52cents. That cashier was refering to the picture on the coupon but the coupon doesn't specify what Stride gum...so I went down the street (thanks Mr. Wags for a store on every corner of the county!) and the deal worked for two completely FREE.....anyone else had a similiar experience this week?

  9. Ms. Jeri, am out of RR to roll so I will pass on the offer for a ride. Much thanks though. I really appreciate the offer. I'm dying to hear what your experience will be at Wags Hampton. Please "educate" their branch/head manager because their cashiers always quote that it's their manager who told them about not combining the monthly Wags booklet coupons with outside manufacturers' coupons and NOT to accept manufacturers' coupon on items that will generate RRs. There's an elderly lady cashier at the Cosmetics check out who is really sooo strict about this to the point of sounding "mean". I think she usually works evening to midnight shift. I had the misfortune of having her checked me out a lot of times during this shift. :(

  10. Hi Denise - Good for you for moving on. The best thing about Walgreens is there is one on the next corner. I don't understand why the stores don't realise they are competing with each other.
