  1. It's 9:30 pm, and I had to run to my local wags to pick up a prescription. I scouted out tomorrow's deals- they had 4 containers of celsius tea, 1 (!) tube of crest, and 1(!) Noxzema razor. I asked 2 employees if they had a special shelf or would restock in the morning and they didn't know, and I didn't want to call the manager. ugh, not sure I want to even bother with tomorrow am. 2. Did (2) separate orders yesterday at Wags to "use up" RRs.

    1st trans.:
Total of items before Qs: $12.52
    Used: $1Q + RR $7.50 + RR 4.00 = $12.50
My Oop should have been 2 cents. but instead the Cosmetics register went -2cents.

The new young cashier has to call her "mentor". Told me to grab another item so I ran to the Ramen's shelf. I ended up Oop 39cents instead of the 2 cents I was expecting to. Oop 39 cents for a Ramen noodles when I knew I should have not, makes me feel I spent my money very unwisely. But didn't want to tell the "mentor" that her register messed up. Am trying to be as agreeable with Wags employees as much as I can.

I gave Man. coupon first, the (2) RRs next then Wags in ad-Q last. I wonder why the cash register did that. Was it because, it belongs Wags? ;)

  3. I meant, "Was it because, it belongs TO Wags?" ;)

  4. Hi Trish - I'm not surprised. I think Walgreens has done a terrible job of stocking the advertised products lately (besides Gillette razors). Maybe we all should start emailing Walgreens corporate when they don't have the advertised by Sunday afternoon.

I don't know advertising law, but you would think they would have to put in their ad "while supplies last" if they stock limited amounts of the products.

  5. Hi coupon.girl - Great shopping even if you had to pay .39 for Ramen noodles. Shopping at Wags is a wing and a prayer. You never know what's up.

  6. Yay for sales on denture cleaners! LOL I knew you'd manage to turn one up for me, Jeri!

  7. the 2nd transaction WAS something else:

    Bought other items worth $9.49
    Bought (2) Dove deo + (2) Dove bodymist worth $15(so I thought)

Used (2) B1G1 Dove Qs which I told cashier body mist was $3.75 but Q is only good for up to $3.49. So she entered, (2) $3.49.
Used (2) $2 Dove deo IPQ.
Used $2 IPQ for the other items.
    Handed cashier $7.50 + $ 4.50 RRs.

Total Bought items: $ 24.49 (again, I thought)
    Total Qs used: $24.48

Imagine my surprise when cashier called her mentor again. Register won't take my $4.50 RR. It turned out, after she scanned the $7.50RR my remaining balance including tax was only $2.58. I was like "What? Are you sure you scanned everything?" She said, "Yes."

I did not want to not use $4.50RR because I was planning to use them all up. Ran again to the grocery shelves. Grabbed (1) Planters nuts (used $1.50IPQ), (1) beef jerky stick + (1) ramen. Still I can't use my $4.50 RR. I kept saying sorry then ran back again to the Ramen shelf to grab (1). This time, the register took $4.50RR. Oop 22 cents instead of the 1cent I was expecting to.

I did not feel bad because I got more items for 21 cents Oop difference BUT I got alarmed when $5 Dove RR did not print. Ughs. Manager was called which I dreaded so much. It turned out one of the Dove Body Mist rang up $1.19. All employees did not know it was discontinued and ringing up $1.19. Oh, Wags! :I

My big surprise was when manager just scanned (4) times the other Body Mist which was ringing up $3.75 and handed me the $5 RR. Yay!

So I just said thank you to him and left.

When I got home, I remembered that I told cashier that the B1G1 Dove Q was for $3.49 when in fact it only rang up $1.19 which I did not know at that time. So now, I feel bad. I feel like I stole from Wags when in all honesty, it was an honest mistake. I feel that I should go back but then it was altogether a messed up transaction and I don't want to make it so much more. What do you guys think? :I

I also feel not going back there for awhile because of the mishaps that happened. To the only Wags accepting Qs on RR items accessible to "my walking", so sad! :(

SO SORRY for the long drama narration. As usual, I just wanna share my experience. :I

  8. Hi Courtney - I thought of you when I saw that coupon, and then when I saw Efferdent in Walgreens ad, I could see you Happy Dancing in the aisles of Walgreens.

    Coupon wishes do come true.

  9. Hi coupon.girl - I love your long narratives. I don't think I would go back to explain what happened. They would never understand what you were trying to tell them. You're store doesn't understand how coupons are suppose to work in the first place.

  10. When I told the young new cashier that I did not get the $5RR she was like "Did you pay $15?". My thought was, "Oh my...here we go again." I just said to her, "I got these 4/$15 Dove items on your ad paper" and I didn't bother to say anything more because I know the "chants" about "you use coupons and RRs" will start.

So I guess you're right, Ms. Jeri. Going back won't make a difference how they thought that I'm "stealing" from them everytime I make a purchase with less than $1 Oop and getting RRs back equal or more than the value of the RRs I spent. :(

And I still have a $4.50 and a $5 RRs that I need to "use". Oh Wags, am loving the items I'm "buying" from you but am dreading the "shopping" experiences. :I

  11. I "commented" back, Ms. Jeri! But I don't see it here. I hope it's not because of my long narratives. :I

  12. Loving the comment about "buying items from you but dreading the shopping experiences." I've taken a break from Wags, and even with some great money makers I just can't force myself to start up again. Some day soon I will; I'm sure of it. It's always nice to use register rewards to buy diapers but just can't drag myself there to fight the system again. Maybe I'll go out of my way to start the CVS game soon...

  13. It is so sad that we have problems at Walgreens. It just doesn't make sense that Walgreens doesn't do a better job of explaining coupon redemptioin to their employees. I always look at as though me and P&G are shopping together and P&G hands me the money to pay ;) Walgreens is getting their money - no one is stealing anything. So frustrating when they act as though we are doing something wrong when the companies who issue the coupons WANT us to use them. Ugh.

  14. Hi coupon.girl - Sometimes the comment takes a while to show up.

Hi Melissa and Liz - I sometimes wonder if Walgreens even cares what people are thinking and saying.

I think CVS is worth the out of the way trip. The deals are great, but even better is how you get treated.

  15. My friend was at Wags today and when he told the cashier he wanted to buy more items but some items werent on the shelf, she replied "Well thats Walgreens for you!". Not "I'm sorry, what were you looking for?" or "I'll let the manager know that needs to be restocked". How do they think they are going to retain customers with statements like that? I'm at a point now where if they dont have an item or wont take my coupons I dont even say anything. One less bottle of body wash isnt going to break me. But I really, really wanted the free socks this week!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Jeri - The back page of every Walgreens ad says "Sale merchandise may not be available at all stores and only while supplies last". Thats how they justify only putting a few of each item on the shelf and not restocking later in the week, or not having the item at all.

  17. Excellent day at Walgreens yesterday - 2 Celsius drinks, 2 Crest, 1 Noxema razors, 2 Sure, 2 Dove deos, 2 Reach tbrushes, Shredded Wheat, Life cereal, 2 Rice Krispie treats and 9 roll Angel Soft. $10 OOP, $4.50 coupon profit, used $14.50 RRs and got $19 new RRs. Everthing rang up right and none of my coupons beeped or got rejected :)

  18. Sure deodorant is now owned by Idelle Labs (it's no longer a Unilever product) so we should be able to use Sure RRs on Unilever products and still get an RR back. Seems like Sure gets bought out by a new company every year.

  19. Hi CJ - I see the disclaimer on Walgreens ad now. They should put it in big letters on the front page instead of fine print on the back.

Thanks for the update on who owns Sure.

  20. CJ, for me, both Celsius $3 insert coupon and $2 IPQ won't scan. At the first store, manager (ughs! :) was called who entered all the numbers on the insert Q, and it worked.

2nd store, cashier just entered all the numbers on the IPQ and I was spared a manager's presence (great cashier! :)

On each trip, I got the Raspberry Acai flavor. It kind of tastes like cough syrup. :I Good thing, I was "paid" to try them. :)

So far, my "Wagging" this week have been "so full of "events" " that still turned out getting "good deals". :)

    Oh WAGS...WAGs...WAgs...wags... ;)

    ReplyDelete
  21. coupon.girl - My $2 IPQ on Celcius scanned fine at one Wags and wouldnt scan at the other but the cashier just typed in the numbers. I got the raspberry too, it's not great but it's decent enough that I'll drink them all. This turned out to be one of my best and easiest Wags weeks - $4.50 profit and a bag full of freebies! I'd like to make one more trip but I fear ruining my good Wags week. Maybe I'll hit CVS again instead :)

  22. Today I went to Walgreen's and I purchased 4 reach toothbrushes. I still had my $2 of 2 so I got them for free. After I paid for the other things I bought, a $4 register reward printed for reach tooth brushes. Is this a monthly deal or what???

    ReplyDelete
  23. allison - Yes its a monthly deal. I had thought it was just a $4 RR for buying 4 but I bought 2 and got a $1 RR.
I also got more free Sure, Oral B toothbrushes, Crest and Purina One Smart Blend dog food. The register beeped for the $2 coupon on $1.99 item but the cashier pushed it through (coupon said any size).

    ReplyDelete
  24. Thanks, CJ - You obviously didn't have any problem using the Smart Blend coupon. I had a manager who refused to push it through. He told me that he didn't get reinbursed for any coupons he pushed through. (I just love how Walgreens employees make stuff up)

I went to another Wags where I know the manager well and asked him about the coupon reinbursement situation at Wags. Yes, they do get reinbursed but it doens't show up on the daily printout. But, that store didn't have any Smart Blend $2 packages.
