Target has the 6 oz. bags of Purina One SmartBlend dog food for $1. I found them on an end aisle by the pet aisles.
There are several different coupons you can use to pick them up for FREE.
Purnia One SmartBlend Dog Food, 6 oz. - $1
$2 off Purina One Brand Dry Dog Food any size, any variety - 6/27/10 SS
$2 off Purina One Brand Dry Dog Food any size, any variety - printable manufacturer's coupon
$1 Purina One SmartBlend dry dog food - printable Target coupon
Final price: FREE
Note: Yesterday, I used the $2 coupon from 6/27/10 SS insert. The register automatically deducted $1. No overage with that coupon. If someone picks these ups and uses both the manufacturer and the Target coupon together, please leave a comment of what happened.

Hey Jeri
ReplyDeleteThey have both the Dog and Cat food at Walgreens... one store had it priced at 99 cents and other stores had $1.99 bags. The 99 cents store adjusted the price to a dollar and said that I could get two bags with one coupon. One of the $1.99 stores said that I couldn't use the coupon at all.

A mere 6 ounzes free isn't worth the gas it will take to drive to the store. Now, give me a 40 pound bag and we'll talk!
ReplyDeleteI will take what I can get for FREE!! Thanks, Jeri! Love your site!
ReplyDeleteI got it at Walgreens. The register beeped but the coupon does say any size so there's no reason they shouldnt take it as long as you buy something with it. Sometimes I think stores price things with .99 at the end just so they can give us a hard time with coupons that usually end with .00. I so wish manufacturers and stores would work together, instead of against us.
ReplyDeleteIf you get free pet food that you'd like to donate, the Bi-State Pet Food Pantry (bistatepetfoodpantry.org) has many drop off locations across St Louis.
Hi Leah & CJ - I've seen both cat and dog Purnia SmartBlend at Wags for $1.99. I didn't post about it because some stores are so difficult to deal with when the coupon exceeds the value of the product.
ReplyDeleteI had one manager tell me he doesn't get reinbursed for any coupons that has to be put in manually. What? I know better than than - but he obviously doens't.
Hi Stephanie - Good luck on saving for your Disney trip.
ReplyDeleteHi Anonymous - I agree a 6 oz. bag of dog food ins't worth a trip, but if you have a dog and are heading to Target anyway, it's a great deal.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I should say my cat thanks you. LOL
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know if Target also carries these sizes in the cat food version?
ReplyDeleteHi Anne and Anonymous - I looked for the cat food version at the Hampton Village Target and didn't see it. But, you could always try Walgrens - they might or might not take your coupons, but it's worth a try.
ReplyDeletedoes anyone have the UPC# on this one please?
ReplyDeletethanks

ReplyDeleteI found the cat food at Walgreens on Lindell. They did not have the SmartBlend dog food, only Beneful. Does the coupon work for that? I did not see the dog or cat food at Target in Fairview Heights.
ReplyDeleteHi Jennifer - Were you able to use your coupon at the Lindell store. Many of the Walgreens won't reduce a coupon.
ReplyDeleteThe coupon says Purina ONE Brand. Befeful and Purina ONE are different varieties. The coupon is not meant to be used on Benefu.
I've heard some Targets have the 6 oz. packages of Punina ONE in the Dollar Spot.
I got the dogfood at Lindbergh Target (North County). I learned the lesson of adding your coupons before getting in line, because the kid scanned $10 bucks worth of coupons that didn't get counted. They are really sweet, and I ended up getting the money back for those.
ReplyDeleteBUT - they gave me 6 bags of dogfood and I only had to use 3 coupons. That made up for the inconvenience. I will go back and get the rest this week.
I don't have a dog (cat) but I have a lot of friends who do. Its always fun to share stuff, and the story of how it's free!

Hi ArmyMomx2 - You have to watch the Target registers like a hawk and check your register tape (if you can even read it) before you leave the store. I don't think it's always the cashiers fault. The beeps all sound alike and It's hard to follow what is going on with the register screen. I try to keep my coupon transactions small and figure out what I owe before I check out. That way, I know when to double check what happened.
ReplyDeleteI was able to find the cat food at Walgreen. They adjusted the price to 1.99. No problems. Nancy H.
ReplyDeleteHi Nancy - Glad you found the cat food and a Walgreens that would reduce the coupon.
