I was out of town for most of the week, but did get a little shopping in before I left town.

Dierbergs
This was last week's sale items. I spent my budget last week before I got to Dierbergs, so I waited until the end of the sale to pick up what I was interested in.

Roadside Farm Stand
Nothing like driving through Iowa in July. No fancy Farmers Markets , just pickup trucks at every country road intersection.

Splurge Funds: $276.40

For those who don't read my blog on a regular basis, my splurge funds are the difference between what I've actually spent and my $50 budget. I use it for those items I never find on sale or that I don't have coupons for.

  1. So Jeri any problems with flooding up in Iowa? Boil or put those ears on the grill?

  2. Hi Kas - The rivers I saw were high and the flood plaines were under water, but I didn't see or hear of any flood damage, yet.

Corn on the grill. Way too hot to boil water.

  3. Last time I made corn on the cob I just cooked it in the microwave for like 5 minutes and it turned out great. Much better that boiling and heating up the kitchen.

  4. Hi CJ - If I don't have the grill going, I too put corn in the microwave. But most nights the grill is on anyway. Thank goodness for gas grills.
