Menu Plan Monday - Week of 8/23/10
As much as I love grilling, I'm ready for the weather to cool down, so I can fix dinner in the oven. I'm getting bored of our "no oven dinners".
Monday: Pork Tenderloin sandwiches, cucumber salad, watermelon
Tuesday: Teriyaki chicken, long grain & wild rice, broccoli,
Wednesday: Tacos
Thursday: Bratwurst, green salad, fresh fruit
Friday: BBQ Chicken sandwiches, chips, grapes
Saturday: Pizza
Sunday: Pork steak, garlic mashed potatoes, veggie & fresh fruit

ReplyDeleteI'm the same way--never use the regular oven in the summer. But this summer I've been loving my new toaster oven!! I can bake and not heat up the house plus am saving energy too. Wish I'd bought one years ago!!!
Jeri,
ReplyDeleteIt's probably not the most exciting contraption in the world, but have you tried a slow-cooker for dinner to keep the house cool? I love mine when it's hot outside, especially for chicken. (I hope I don't sound like an ad! especially since I got mine at one of the local thrift stores. Haha.)
Also, I wanted to say that garlic mashed potatoes sound so yummy! What time is dinner? ;)
Hi Kelly - I've had a toaster over for years. I'm lucky to warm up leftovers in it. Maybe I should look at a new one if you can bake cakes in them now.
ReplyDeleteHi rawfoodgal - I do use the slow cooker some in the summer. I will cook a whole chicken or pork roast to do BBQ sandwiches with.
Don't get too excited about the garlic mashed potatoes. They are Betty Crocker out of a box. But for something quick they aren't bad.
I had the Betty Crocker garlic mashed potatoes last night - good and fast!
