Everyone must have stopped eating eggs after the Salmonella outbreak, because they continue to decrease in price. I would never let the kid lick the beaters or eat raw cookie dough, but I was known to sneak a taste if they weren't in the room. I don't think I'll be doing that anymore.

If you haven't shopped at Aldi, or it has been a while:1. Make sure you have a quarter to unlock a shopping cart. The carts are like luggage carts at the airport. You rent them for a quarter, and you get your quarter back when you return the cart.
2. Take your own bags. Aldi does not provide free bags for your groceries.
3. Aldis now accepts debit cards.
4. Aldis does not accept coupons
If you buy something at Aldi you are not please with, they have a double guarantee. If for any reason, you are not 100% satisfied with any product, they will replace the product AND refund your money. More info HERE.

I've been waiting for those cheap apple prices. Stocking up this week!
ReplyDeleteLast year apples went down to $.99 for a 3-lb bag. I don't know if they will again this year, but you might not want to stock up too much yet.
ReplyDeleteI bought some pears a couple weeks ago when they were cheap and they just don't seem to want to ripen. I think I'll be skipping them this time.
ReplyDeleteEggs were .89 at the Maplewood Aldi last night. They are always .10-.20 higher on eggs than other locations.
ReplyDeleteI bought some apples last night but they were teeny apples.
ReplyDeleteS. County Aldi (55 & Lindbergh) had higher prices (on Tue) on a few things I wanted:
ReplyDeleteLarge dozen eggs $0.89
Cantaloupes, xtra large $1.49
Hi All - Prices do vary between stores at times, even within the same Metro area. Thanks for reporting the prices at your stores.
ReplyDeleteJB - I agree with you. The prices of apples might not be at their lowest yet. It is worth waiting for a few weeks if you want to stock up.
Staci - I've heard people mentioning that their pears didn't ripen. Have you tried putting them in a brown paper bag. I will do that if I want peaches to ripen up quicker. Aldi does have a double guarantee if your not happy with the product. I have a link to the policy and more info at the end of my post.
Marcella - I bought Jonathan apples. They seem to be the same size as the Jonathans I got at Dierbergs last week. But the different varieties of apples might be different.
WHY WERE THE EGG BEATERS RECALLED
