CVS - 30% off Next Saturday & Sunday

The drugstores remind me of kids trying to outdo each other to get mom's attention.  I hate that when the kids to it - love it when the drugstores do.

CVS - 30% off your Entire purchase December 4th & 5th.

No coupon necessary.  Normal in-store exclusions apply.  Excludes iPad, Lookbook and Netbook.

UPDATE - There might be a coupon necessary for this promotion.  The website says to check back on December 4th.

  1. What, no coupon? So they are just going to give that discount to everyone that walks in the store? Okay, that does seem a little crazy but I will wait till Saturday to do my CVS shopping.

  2. Hi Lynda - That is the way it looks to me. I guess we will know more on Saturday. The best thing is the discount covers two week's of ads. I want to drop all things on my to dolist and take a looke at next week's CVS ad scan.

  3. I bet there will be a coupon on their website on Sat to print. I cant imagine them just giving the discount to everyone. Hope next week's ad is a good one!

  4. I got rainchecks from Black Friday's sale. Shelves were empty of the "Free Items" when we got there last Saturday night. This news is making me nervously excited. I hope and pray everything goes well with my planning and shopping. :)

  5. Hi CJ - The more I think about it and after seeing the 20% off shopping pass, I too am now thinking there will be a coupon to print.

  6. Do you think this coupon will exclude sale items just like the 20% coupon? I too got excited, but am now thinking it may not be a big deal if I can't use it on ECB or sale items.

  7. I was told that I couldn't get rainchecks for the 3-day sale items. =( Was anybody besides coupon.girl able to get rainchecks?

  10. I got several RCs at the South County CVS as well. Personally I would call CVS corporate about being denied RCs. Unless it was stated in the ad "while supplies last", I would think they would have to give you a RC.

Speaking of calling corporate -- I called corporate AGAIN today about the improper taxing at the Creve Coeur CVS, since they had not responded after my call a few weeks ago. Again they promised to respond. I will keep calling until this is resolved! What they are doing is a big no-no!

  11. Hi Staci & Tabatha - The Black Friday ad said "rainchecks not available on items that are not regularly carried."

If you were asking for a raincheck on merchandise the store carries year round they should have issued one.

I too encourage you to contact CVS corporate with details of which store and which items you were wanting rainchecks on.

Hi KC - It dosen't sound like the info about the sales tax issue is getting from Customer Serive to the right people to get the problem fixed. I'm going to stop and talk to the manager at the South City store. Maybe he can get to the right people. I'm sure he dosen't want the MO. Dept. of Revenue looking into the situation

  12. Thanks for posting the verbage from the ad. I didn't keep a copy. I was thinking about contacting corporate. I think I will and will keep you posted. =)

  13. You're welcome, Staci. I'll be interested in what they say too.

  14. Update #1: I called corporate and the gentleman that I spoke with called the store while I was on hold. The store manager said that they will still issue the rainchecks if I come into the store. I will post back after going in to let everyone know if all is successful. =)

  15. Thanks for the update, Staci. I think you'll get your rainchecks. CVS's customer service is very good. Someone at the store you shop was obviously misinformed and they are going to make it right.

  16. Ms. Jeri, will you link this blog to CVS page so it will be easier to check comments for weekend shopping. Pleaseeee. Thanks a lot. :)

  18. Update #2: Success! I went in to the wonderful Olivette CVS today and was able to get my rainchecks with no problem, they had a couple of the items in stock already, and I finally was able to find 5 boxes of Electrasol Finish BEFORE my coupons expired. Great day! The 20% Q DID NOT work for me, BTW, because of the sale prices. Fortunately, I had a $5/30 with me as well. Not quite as good a deal, but still did well.

I was also able to get a 30% Friends & Family Q from one of my favorite cashiers. Exclusions include: sale merchandise, discontinued merchandise, milk, bread, alcohol, gift cards, lottery, money orders, prescriptions, postage stamps, pre-paid cards, tobacco products, newspapers, magazines, iPad, Lookbook, and Netbook. Not sure it's worth a trip in if sale items are excluded. Hopefully it will work for some like the 20% did.

Curious to see how this will pan out...

Refreshed the link above and it is updated. It still says 30% off your entire purchase in-store or online December 4th and 5th.

It only gives details for the online coupon code. The fine print indicates "Offer available online only. Expires 12/5/10 at 11:59 PM ET. To receive the 30% off Friends and Family discount enter coupon code friend30 at check out."

I don't know how they can do it online only when the banner says in-store as well.

When I called my store tonight, they said that you had to have a coupon to get the deal (probably the one Staci was referencing above), but she was going to talk to her manager (who wasn't there at the time.)

I printed the screen shot and am hoping to use it if I have problems tomorrow. Good luck everyone!

  20. Hi Staci - I'm glad it worked out.

Hi Kelly in West County - I just posted an update on the 30% off promotion. Since 7 am this morning they have changed the graphic on their website.

It is just for online orders and anyone with a friends & family coupon they weren't distributed to the general public.

The manager I spoke to this morning was dumbfounded the offer mention in-store on the website. He said he would fiqure out some way to honor the 30% if people asked. Other stores might not - it is totally up to the manager.
