  1. Is this a good idea to do? Is this a "really good" deal? I've been buying Sunday papers from stores because I don't like "contracts". :I

    Thanks.

  2. I personally think it is a great deal. With the $20 Target GC it is like getting the paper for less than $.61/week! Now that papers are $1.50-$2 everywhere, that is a great price. If you do it, keep track and make sure you get your GC. My SIL and MIL did a similar deal several months ago and had to call because they hadn't gotten their gift cards.
Does anyone know if you can do this to get an additional paper sent to your house? It would be a new subscription, but I wouldn't exactly be a new subscriber.

  3. Hi coupon.girl & JB - I think it's a great deal too. Not only keep track of if you get the giftcard but when the year is up so you could cancel your subscription - depending on the price.

There are a few week's a year that there will be no scheduled inserts. You can call and not have a paper delivered when you are on vactation. Does anyone know if this extends your subscribtion or you end up paying even if they don't deliver?

The deals is for new subscribers. I wonder if you subscribe with someone elses name in the household?

If anyone finds these thing out, let us know.

  4. Don't forget the $0.51 delivery fee for Sunday papers. That makes the total without the giftcard $1.50 per week for the Sunday paper.

  5. Hi TB - I'm confused. I'm reading the fine print to say that you can avoid the .51 delivery cost if you pick up the paper and that the .99 includes delivery. Am I reading that incorrectly?

  6. Does anyone have more than one paper delivered to the same address? Is that 'allowed'?

  7. Too bad the P-D gives great deals to new customers but gives lousy service to their current subscribers.

  8. When I signed up for my mom just now, they gave me a $50 target gift card for doing auto pay charged monthly to my credit card. Great Christmas gift for my mom and a little something for me too! :)

  10. I agree that they are terrific for new subscribers. I ordered. The fine print says that you have to "pay back" the gift card if you cancel w/in 30 days. If I'm unhappy w/ my service again, I'll cancel...I'll just wait until after the 1st of the year or I get my GC...whichever comes first.

CJ - unfortunately that is the truth. Glad I am out of the subscription baloney.... It took several calls and had to pay full price for the extras they delivered anyway. I would have continued delivery, but they jacked up my price to more than the store. I was already heading to the store some weeks for multiple copies so I just got rid of it. The past few weeks I have been buying at SNS - with my GC purchased with Entertainment book Qs that just expired.

My advice to those of you signing up - just keep track of the end date yourself. By the time you get your renewal notice - you may have already received some papers not in your plan.
