Menu Plan Monday - Week of 3/21/11

This is the third week in a row that French Bean Cassoulet is on my menu.  The fist week I had planned on using a raincheck to pick up smoked sausage, but Dierbergs was still out of stock, and this past week, I didn't have any beans in the pantry.  I don't know how that happened.  It's not like my youngest ate them for a snack, or maybe he did - you never know with him.  So, once again I'm going to give it a try this week.  I hope is good after all this anticipation.

On another note, my Pasta Ham & Peas last week was very good using Philly Cooking Creme.  I'm going to try another recipe with Cooking Creme.  I hope we enjoy it as much as last week's recipe.

Monday: Creamy Bacon Fettuccine, garlic bread, strawberries

Tuesday: Baked chicken, baked potatoes, frozen veggie, fresh pineapple

Wednesday: Breakfast as dinner, orange juice

Thursday: Pizza, fresh pineapple

Friday: Dinner out

Saturday: French Bean Cassoulet, fresh fruit

Sunday: Swedish Meatballs, mashed potatoes, peas, cranberry sauce

  1. If anyone gets the Kraft Food magazine in the mail they had a whole section of recipes using the Philly cooking creme. Since I ended up getting 3 last Thursday I am really anxious to try it. Good luck on te Cassoulet Jeri. Let us know how you like it. My husband asked me again yesterday to never make it again. lol

this week we have Cajun Chicken Pasta (an unmade meal from last week, haha), 5 Onion Soup and BLT's, and Irish Beef and Potatoes.

  3. Hi Lynda - When I figured out I didn't have any beans last week, the thought crossed my mind that I should just scrap the idea of making the Cassoulet.

  4. Today I made pasta con broccoli with the cooking creme. It was okay but homemade PCB is never as good to me as Pasta House's.

  6. We tried the Creamy Bacon Fettucine a couple of weeks ago. We were not impressed at all. Hope you have better luck.

  8. Hi StephB - We didn't like the Creamy Bacon Fettucine recipe either. I think it's the Italian Cheese & Herb flavored Cooking Creme - it's bad.

It might have been an ok dish if I had used the regular flavor.
