  2. Hi Sara - The coupon is for a whole list of products. It's on the same page as Glad Trash Bags and Forumla 409.

  6. Thanks for the reminder- jelyni!

Hi Anonymous - I think you'll find everyone here very patient and helpful.

Yes, $10 comes off your total automatically as soon as your order comes to $50. It's always before coupons are applied. If you have a $5 off $5 coupon from the Entertainment Book. You can spend right at $50 and still use that coupon too.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Jeri, just a small correction so as not to confuse any new couponers. The entertainment book coupon is $5 off $50 purchase. :) Also for new people, here is something it took me forever to figure out on my own: you can buy a $50 gift card using the $5 off $50 from the entertainment book, then use another $5 off $50 from the entertainment book on no coupon Thursday and pay for it with your gift card!

  8. To avoid confusion, your trip would look something like thi:
Go in & purchase $50 gift card, using $5 off $50 from the entertainment book. Pay $45.
Go shopping. Puchase pretty close to $50 before coupons, $10 automatically deducts at register. Use a $5 off $50 coupon from the entertainment book. Pay the reamining$35 ( less any other coupons) with your $50 gift card. Leaving at least $15 balance to use next time! :)
    I hope that helps someone

  9. Last week I took the Diebergs $1.50 coupon off chicken when you buy the Philly cream cheese to SnS. The cashier did not want to take both it and my manufacturer's $1.50 coupon for the cheese. She called customer service, and they did take both. I had visions of that happening again this week, so I emailed Valerie at Customer's Relations. Here is my email and her response, in case anyone has problems while shopping you can refer to this. (I think part of the problem might have been this was the day after the Extreme Couponing show.

    My email:
I was looking at the weekly ad and noticed Shop 'n Save's inclusion of a printed coupon for $1.50 off chicken when someone buys New PHILADELPHIA cream cheese. I also have a manufacturer's coupon for $1.50 off the New PHILADELPHIA cream cheese. Since the coupon in your ad is for the chicken, I am wondering if I would also be able to use the $1.50
manufacturer's coupon on the cream cheese. In other words, I would buy cream cheese and chicken and use both my $1.50 coupon for the cream cheese and your $1.50 ad coupon for the chicken. Thanks for your
    assistance with this.

    Here is Valerie's response:
The webpage questions do not go direct to our stores, but come to Customer Relations to respond. You may use both coupons on the purchase of the New PHILADELPHIA cream cheese. I hope this information is
    helpful for you.

Thank you for shopping at Shop 'n Save.

  12. On the last $10/$50 Thursday, the SNS in Collinsville wouldn't accept ANY coupons for more than 50% regardless of clipped from newspaper or sent from manufacture. I went to talk to the manager and he said this is their policy. I was really frustrated to find this out as I was checking out as I would have made different choices, but didn't want to go back through the whole store after they finished ringing me out. Anyone else had this issue? Does anyone shop in Edwardsville (worth the drive for me if I can use more coupons.)

    ReplyDelete
  13. .Carrie
I have had mixed reviews at the Edwardsville store. It really depends on who is working and who you pick for your cashier. They wouldn't take the tuna coupon in Edwardsville but I had no trouble in Collinsville (on Vandalia). In reality I like the Collinsville store better because even though it seems smaller I have had less trouble there. I feel like Edwardsville has treated me like a criminal before when I have did well like I am personally stealing from them. I just tell them in this economy we have to do what works for your family and coupons have saved us a bundle! Thanks for all your help on CouponStl. It really means alot!

    ReplyDelete
  14. .Carrie- I have had no problems in Belleville North Belt West. I am not sure if you feel that is close enough. Also, that Belleville one has a gas station. The last couple weeks prices have been as much as 20 cents cheaper at times. You van use the remainder of your $50 gift card at the pump, AND you get a coupon for 6 cents off per gallon up to 20 gallons when you spend $50! With these prices, I will use any coupon for gas that comes my way!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Good Morning to All,

Good to see others cking in from around my area =)

Anonymous: Older coupons and be traded for or bought online. Most of us here have a stash of past inserts. Some basic info is in the CouponSTL Trader under Coupon Organization on how to keep your past inserts. HTH =)

.Carrie-The Collinsville manager is wrong. A call to corp might correct his understanding of the correct policy. But I thought there are 3 stores around C-ville?

Edwardsville shoppers-I understand where you are coming from. A coupon friendly cashier at this store is hit and miss. I have found 2 guys that are the best and always hope they are there working when I visit this store, and one lady. Next time I will get names so we can compare our go to cashiers. =)

I guess I am goin to have to keep those Gas discount coupons and post them in the CouponSTL Trader Forum-I toss them =( I drive a diesel and have a go-to place for that.

Anyone come up with some good ideas? I have about 4-5 plans written up so far. Gonna have to ck the next couple weeks menus to see if there is something I am missing and put it on my list.

Jeri-The Cleaning Lady in me is planning to stock up on Lysol T-bowl cleaner but the coupon you mention is for the Clorox brand T-bowl cleaner and not Lysol. I have been hunting for Lysol coupons and they are sometimes very few and far in between.

Have a great day to All.

  16. Hi All,

Me again-forgot a couple things to mention.

Bone-in/Skin-on Cken Breast is $1.58 lb pks were @$4+ in my store**to work with the Philly Cooking Cream coupon. =)

If you still have any McCormick coupons for -$1 the McC. Grill Mates are $1 this week so Free and a good filler to get you closer to $50.

  17. Most varieties of Silk milk are $2.97 and there have been $2 printables on the Web recently (maybe still on Silk's site). I had no problems using it last night even though it was more than 50%. Simply juice is $2.38 minus recent .50 coupon. And Propel water is .50, same price as at Schnucks. The Kirkwood SNS is out of the Purina Beyond cat food boxes.

  18. I have the Free .75 oz Super Poligrip coupon from a few weeks ago. Does any know if SNS carries this and if so how much it is? TIA

    ReplyDelete
  19. Hi Megan,

I cked for the Super Poligrip yesterday and could not find the correct size. HTH =)

TYVM CJ =) And have you been able to use RRs at SNS?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Hi All - Thanks, everyone for all your additional info.

Sarah, next time you're going to have to hit me upside the head telling me I've got the wrong brand listed. You were way too nice trying to hint - You're Worng! I'm sorry if I wasted your time.

KC - Thanks for taking your time to clairify if the Philly Cooking Creme coupon and the chicken coupon can be used together.

New couponers - It takes a few week's to acquire the coupons form back inserts, but if you start buying the Sunday paper every weekend, it doen't take long to have a nice stash of coupons. In the meantime, you can read and learn and use a few coupons to get your feet wet.

.carrie - It's amazing what you sometime hear from store employees and managers. I've made it a point to call Corp. offices when I get such wrong information. The SNS's Edwardsville store obviously needs more training on coupon policy.

Megan - I too checked for .75 oz. Super Poligrip at my SNS. None there either.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Janet - I havent tried to use RR's at SNS because Valerie said we couldnt. I'm gonna try with a Walgreens Nescafe catalina first and see if that even works, then ask about the OYNO RRs.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Hi All,

CJ-Per my call with Valerie last?Thursday? You can use a -$4 Nescafe MQ RR or the -$1.50/3 Nescafe coupon she had copies of these as examples-even tho we call them RRs they are still a Manufacture coupons. And if you go during Corp hours keep her number with you and if you have to talk to her you most certainly can use my name in regards to anything I have mentioned here-I hope you have my last name still or email me-Valerie should know me by name per our phone conversations. Good Luck =)

I am just so blessed to have my SNS accept them as a benefit to their bottom line.

Example: I special ordered 40 of the Carefree products at Wags this week that are $.99 get $1.00 back and using the -$.50 MQ that I also ordered costing $2.44 for 40 MQs. I only was going to purchase 30 Carefree and pass the extra onto my Fav Wags BA(who was shocked and very much appreciated it).

I bought a $50 GC for Wags to do the transactions. Then we started the transactions 1 at a time and ended up costing $.56 ea w/tax. Somehow we only did 29 transactions so:

    29 x $.56 = $16.24
    I rec'd 29 x $1 RRs=$29.00
    -$2.44 MQ cost
    = +$10.32 profit in RRs
Time taken at register: Start time 12:11pm - 12:31 pm end time exacty 20 minutes.

I hope that is understandable and somehow you guys can use it as an example of what can be done. =)

Has anyone else been using Wags RRs to pay at SNS? So far I think out of 42 local stores I have only heard of 4. Anybody?

Out to ck my flower garden before school pick up. =) It is sooooo nice outside today.

    BBL

Thank you very much for the Lysol IP links-these are going to help out a bunch =)

  26. Hi Janet - Thanks for relaying your Carefree deal at Walgreens. The possibilities with Wags moeny-makers and SNS now are endless.

Can you give all of us and idea of when you talk to your Wag manager about special ordering - how long a lead time is needed?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Thanks, Andrea for the reminder on the New York coupon!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Good Afternoon All,

We are coming down to the wire--Are you guys getting your plans ready?

Jeri-I posted a topic over in the CouponSTL Trader forum Shop Talk "Braggin Rights-Show It Off" for anyone who wants to show off their SNS trip(s) tomorrow =) I have to get my coolers down tonight for my meat storage tomorrow-gotta keep it on ice during my trips. =)

Onto Wags-I would say that if your store manager does not know you then introduce yourself. It had taken sometime for me to build up a reputation with my Wags manager and only over the last year I have done the special ordering. She knows as well as the SNS SD knows I do most(maybe 90%) of my shopping at these two places-they know I only shop WM when it is free or necessary.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Ok Sorry posted before I finished-its been a long day-thank goodness I have a roast to put in the crock for tomorrow-no major cooking on my SNS Shopapalooza(sp) hehehehehehehe.

Ok back to Wags and ordering:

I am not sure how all stores work-at the one I do SOs from they order on Tuesdays before 12, this order usually arrives on that Thursdays delivery truck.

Example: Carefree I talked to her on April 4th, she placed the stores orders on April 5th, this shipment arrived on April 7th. I had made arrangements to pick them up on April 12th which I did. But please note things do not always go according to plan-If an item is going to be a MM we are competing with other very experienced coupons and shipments may not arrive as promised-usually this is only with huge MMs. Also I would recommend to start small with maybe an order of 5 if you do find a Wags manager who is willing to work with you. I flat out told the manager I could buy XX from your store or run around to all the other Wags wasting my time and give them my dollars etc.- if you find a good manager they would much rather have the dollars for their store. And if one manager will not special order-speak to another store.

Ok I think I might have put it all in there. LMK if I didn't. =) BBL I have to get some dinner going. =) Roasted pork/slaw and maybe rice.

    =)

  30. Potentially dumb question: some coupons that I plan on using, such as the Starkist .75/2 state "Limit one coupon per purchase". Does that refer to my entire purchase at the store? Or just the purchase of one product. For instance, can I use 3 of these coupons on 6 items in one transaction?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Hi Janet - Great explanation of how you special order and the relationship you have developed with the Managers/Store Directors in your area. Thanks you.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Hi StarKist buyer - There are no dumb questions here. We all were newbies at one time and the per purchase terminology confuses everyone - even cashiers at times.

Limit One coupon per purchase means - one coupon per purchase of products and quantities stated on coupon. It does not limit the number of coupons you can use in a single transaction. Yes, you can use your (3) coupon to purchase (6) StarKist in the same transaction.

You will sometimes see coupons that limit how many like coupons you can use in a single transaction. Most P&G coupons now also state - Limit 4 like coupons in the same shopping trip.

If it's still confusing continue to ask questions.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Anonymous asking about Kraft cheese - I haven't price checked it this week, but it is regularly priced $2.08, just in case no one else knows if they are on sale. HTH at least some! =)

Anonymous asking about one coupon per purchase - First, no question is a dumb question! We are all here to learn together. "Purchase" refers to the item(s) purchased per coupon requirement and "transaction" refers to all items purchased on one receipt. If the coupon stated "limit one coupon per transaction," you would only be able to use one coupon even if you bought multiple items. In your example, if you purchase 6 tuna pouches, you can use 3 coupons. =)

Janet - Thanks for the price check on chicken! I may have to add that to my list. We are running low on meat and poultry around here. =)

All - I stopped in to the St. John SNS last week to inquire about the acceptance of RRs and catalina Qs. When I first asked at the desk I was told that they didn't believe they could be used, but the CS rep called the SD who said she would check into it. After a very short shopping trip to confirm Tasters Choice deal and to scout for rebate forms (of which I found none as usual), I went back to CS. The SD was there and said that they are in fact taking both OYNO and item specific Qs and that she would be having a meeting on Monday (two days ago, now) to bring everyone up to speed. She had me pull out examples of both types of Qs so we could review and make sure we had full understanding. The one thing that she mentioned that hasn't been mentioned previously is that they can only accept the OYNO coupons when issued by a manufacturer whose product they carry. I can't imagine that would happen too often, but it might, so we should be prepared. Not sure how they will catch those Qs unless it is a computer programming issue. She was very nice and very thorough. =) The other CS reps mentioned that they have thrown away catalina Q from other stores on a regular basis. I wonder how much money they have unknowingly thrown away over the years!

I am only planning a couple of simple transactions for tomorrow and will probably have limited Qs. I'm going to focus on things we need this week. There were some Pampers on clearance for $6.65, so if there are any left, I may use the Wags Pampers Q from last week at SNS.

If anyone happens to know the price on the Jello Temptations, I would love to know. I have my vocalpoint Q for a freebie to use.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I know that SNS is taking Wags RR/coupons now, but are now they taking them from Target & other stores too? Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Kristen - It is my understanding that as long as it says manufacturer coupon at the top, has a remittance address and is from a manufacturer/product that they carry that they should accept it.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Realized I had a free milk Q expiring tonite and ran to get it. Hate it when I get coupons not on the Thurs. schedule!
The Jello Temptations are $2.88 and the chicken/Philly cream sauce went fine w/both Qs. Also, tonite I made the recipe on the back of the garlic philly cream sauce & had great reviews from almost everyone even w/cooked spinach in it!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Thanks, Kristen! I think I'll add the Jello to my list. =) I have a container of the garlic philly in the fridge. I may just have to give it a try.

  38. Thanks, Staci, for clearing up the other store coupon policy!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Hi Staci - Interesting about the RR only from manufacuters they carry products for.

I don't know the process of reinbursment for coupons, but it makes sense that if they don't carry a manuf. products they might not get reinbursed.

That is definitly something to watch out for. SNS doens't carry that many non food items and there could be many manf. that offer RR that SNS doesn't sell there proucts.

  40. Yoplait yogurts were priced at $0.32 which is a great price to me anyway, I used 40c/6 coupons and I bought 24. I got a surprise $2.00 Catalina at checkout! For any other math geeks: .32x24=$7.68 -20% for $10 Thurs(-1.54) -10% for $5 Entertainment Bk Q (-.77) -four 40c/6 Qs (-1.60) = 3.77 subtotal -10% for using a gift card purch with EB Q (-.38) = 3.39 subtotal -$2.00 Catalina = $1.39 total for 24 or about 6 cents each! I wish I knew how many were needed to buy to get the Catalina. It doesn't say on it.

  45. Janet - Woo Hoo! It might be because of Easter, but I wonder if the buzz they are getting because of EC had some influence too. I'm sure there are a lot of people who never considered shopping at SNS before that might be rethinking that. I know I never shopped at SNS before I found couponing.

  46. Jeri - I think a store has to somehow confirm that they sold x # of a product (more than the # of Qs that are being redeemed) to be reimbursed, so it makes sense that if they don't carry a particular manufacturer's product, they won't get reimbursed. I may be wrong, but I think that's the way it works. ;-)

Janet - Woohoo! Thanks for the heads up! I was actually expecting next week and was surprised by this week. Seems like they usually run a two-week ad in conjuction with a holiday and the first week has our beloved yellow box, lol! Now I'm glad I only did one trip this week and will save my last few EBQs for the next round. =)

  47. YIPEE!!!!!! Two weeks in a row. I am worn out now and was debating about going out again. I didn't think this week was going to be that great but it ended up being unbelievable. Funny story, daughters new boyfriend saw my stockpile last night and I thought I was going to have to pick his jaw up off the floor. I hardly have anything compared to the extreme couponers. Oh by the way everyone was talking about it today and everyone I saw shopping was using coupons. I

  53. Had a rough day at SNS. Went to the High Ridge SNS; they would not accept my wags RR even after speaking with manager. When I got home I called Valerie. She was very pleasant and called the store and talked to the manager. She called me right back and told me they would accept my RR's. My friend went and asked at the CS desk after my phone call to Valerie and the manager told her they just started accepting RR's today. Anyways, I went back for another transaction and the same manager said he would accept the RR, but only one per transaction. Really???? I had $32 RR expiring today. I called the Fenton SNS- they asked their manager and he said they don't accept RR's-- but they honor Sapington's 10 off 50 (I didn't know that- I thought it was just Crestwood that honored that coupon). Long story short..... I wound up going back to Crestwood SNS where I used my RR's. The cashier wasn't aware and had to ask the manager, but they went through fine.

Thanks for all the updates!!! It looks like it might be awhile before all the sns's are on the same page with accepting RR.

  54. Hi Michelle B - You did have a rough day. But thank you for updating us all on what was going on at the stores you shop. It sounds like maybe we should all put Valeries number on speed dial on our cell phones. It is going to take awhile for all stores to get on board.

Thanks for the Fenton store and Sappington coupon match info. I hadn't heard that one before either.
