Joe's Market Basket in Edwardsville - Beef Tenderloin Sale

If you're in the Edwardville area you might want to check out this deal.

Though Thursday, June 30th, Joe's Market Basket has Whole Beef Tenderloin on sale for $6.49 lb. - $1 more per lb. to trim and slice.

Make the deal better - sign up for Joe's Market Basket E-newsletter and get a $5 off $50 coupon!.

Coupon STL reader, Rhonda sent me this info about Joe's.  She says Joe's Market Basket has the best beef tenderloin she has ever had.  They run this kind of sale once or twice a year, and she will buy a couple to to stick in the freezer.

Before couponoing, I would have never, ever thought about spending this much money on meat. But now, ground chuck can be as expensive as $4.99 lb. and  I spend so little on basic pantry items, this type of purchase doesn't seem like such a splurge.  I'm tempted to make the drive to Edwardville for this deal.

Thanks, Rhonda!

  2. Question of the expert. Do you need to have them trim and cut if your a novice, or is it something you can easily do yourself?

  3. I have always loved Jeri, but now I love Rhonda, too!! I live in Edwardsville and often wonder if Market Basket has "good" sales. I think they have the BEST meat!

Rhonda - do you ever find the beer rebates in town? I'm not sure if I don't know what to look for, if I'm looking at the wrong stores, or if they just don't exist on this side of the river????

Thank you both for your wonderful news! :)

  4. Stacey - My experience with the beer rebates in IL is that you are required to purchase the beer to get the rebate.

  5. I LOVE market basket. I can't ever remember needing to trim any fat because they do it. TOP quality meat. A little pricey in the rest of the grocery area but the garden department is AMAZING. Definately worth the drive. Now if we could only get a Trader Joe's and Whole Foods here.... Thanks for the $10 off $50 tip. I never knew.

  6. Yay! This is my town too! I think Market Basket offers ten off 50 or 60 on either Weds or Thurs.

Stacey...There are no purchase beer rebates here in IL ...you just have to search! EVE

  7. Easy to trim and cut - no problem. I don't think in my 10 years of buying meat there, I have ever hand to trim. I cut my own and freexe it a little to get it just firm and then cut it with an electric knife the way we prefer.

When we say TOP quality - it is top quality. When, I say you can cut it with a table knife or a fork without putting anything on it - it is true. We just had one the other night and it my favorite way to get my protein fix.

Also, there chicken is antiobiotic free. There Wonderroast chicken (rotisserie) is the best I have ever had. You can also but the rubs they use on the products. Just tell them what you want and they will measure it out. I am a meat snob, I'll admit it. Frankly, I can could praise them all day long and probably into tomorrow.

  8. Good Afternoon to All,

I did stop by the Market Basket for the beef tenderloins. I picked up 2 @ $35.11 and $40.89. Rhonda I have to say as I did trim this(very little)I found it to be one of the easiest pieces of meat I have ever cut into-Ever =) I was able to get 33 very nice sized cuts from the 2 tenderloins(I always slice DHs cuts larger than mine). I bacon wrapped half of them also before freezing. I still have about 1.5 lbs of small odd shape pieces to use for Kabobs also. DH is in Louiseville this week and I cannot wait for him to get back so he can try this Excellent choice of meat.

TYVM Rhonda for letting us know. I am even thinking about going to pick up 2 more. =)
