Did this today. Spent $4 opp, $3 BR, $2 RR between 5 tranactions. Each one I got a $2/$10 cpn good until the 28th. I used them instead of using my BR points. I still have 2 of the $2/10 cpns and 2 $2.50 RR that I had planned on using. My total of all the items was $118 before cpns. Oscar Mayer sandwich meat accounted for $30 of the original amount:) Had fun today at Wags, I haven't been able to feel that way in a while. CVS has been my big deal place. I saw the flier for next week...if you still have Butterball cpns for fresh/frozen meat you will be able to get the bacon free. If you have the Starbucks $1.50/1 they will be $1 and get a $1 RR. Also, the Lays chips are B1G1 this week, next week they are $1.99 each. If you go Sat and overlap the deals you should get them for $1 a bag....great price for July 4th picnics!!!
ReplyDeleteMy $2/$10 cpn says valid tomorrow and the following day. Were you able to use it right away?
DeleteAbout the double dip, I tried it a few weeks ago on a Saturday evening on B1G1 Breyer Ice Cream and 2/$7 sale, it didn't work. The only the new week sale rang up but the Saturday sale was already gone. Did I go too late on Saturday?
There is sodium nitrate in the OM sandwich meat. Are you concerned at all?
Part of an article about sodium nitrates this is the link to the whole article
Deletehttp://culinaryarts.about.com/od/seasoningflavoring/a/nitrates.htm
Nitrates and nitrites are chemical compounds commonly used in making cured meat products like bacon and hot dogs. A lot of ink has been spilled discussing the idea that nitrates and nitrites are bad for you, and food manufacturers have introduced all kinds of supposedly "nitrate-free" products to meet the resulting consumer demand.
But what you may not know is that not only are the fears over nitrates completely overblown, but these "nitrate-free" products can actually contain many times more nitrates than conventional products.
Not only that, but a truly nitrate-free hot dog would be much more likely to make you sick than a conventional one.
Sodium nitrate is a type of salt that happens to be a particularly effective food preservative. A naturally occurring mineral, sodium nitrate is present in all kinds of vegetables (root veggies like carrots as well as leafy greens like celery and spinach) along with all sorts of fruits and grains. Basically, anything that grows from the ground draws sodium nitrate out of the soil.
I'm sure for every article about the bad of them there are just as many about how they are not as harmful as some think. I believe that too much of just about anything is bad for you in one way or another. It all depends on how much you choose to consume in a period of time.
Thanks for the article. It is good to know. Much appreciated.
DeleteI tried the Lays deal today and it didn't work. Anyone else has any luck? Did I go too early this time? I went at 2 pm.
I did it and the Renu over lap for BR pts at 12:30. They both worked without a problem. My store starts overlapping at 12 pm, some stores are different. From what I have read, if it's a 24 hr store they change over later in the day, around 8 pm or later. I found out about it when they started the program, my favorite cashier now friend and 2 managers who know me by name told me about it. A while back corp told them that they had changed the start time, but we tried anyway at that time and it still worked and still does. If you have a cashier that you know pretty good you might about it. HTH:)
DeleteThe Renu overlapped for me also. But not the Lays chips. I guess individual store has the ability to turn on and off individual sales. I can't see why Renu worked for me but not the chips. But they both worked for you. Guess I need to go to a different Walgreens next time. Thanks for the info.
