  1. Hi Ms. Jeri. If IP coupon is to be used at ShopNSave and it is higher than the item's sale price the computer will prompt the cashier when he/she scans it that it is higher and since it is an IP coupon there's a big chance that the cashier will just enter the coupon up to 50% of the item's price. I wish that this is NEVER possible because it will really be a money-maker but at ShopNSave, sad to say it's a possibility. When it comes to IP coupon, I like to use it more now at Schnucks because they would accept the IP coupon up to the price of the item if it's higher than the retail price and sometimes depending on the cashier, the IP coupon can be a money-maker there.

  2. I wonder if the manufacturers reimburse ShopNSave the total value of the IP coupon even if ShopNSave only "accepts" its value up to 50% of the product's retail price because if they do, IP coupon is a money-maker for ShopNSave?!?! Wish manufacturers can let us know their comment on this! Can you inquire about this Ms. Jeri? :I :) As always, thanks a lot.

  3. coupon.girl,

Thanks for the info about IP's higher than the sale price of an item. I'm trying to think and I don't think I've ever used one at SNS. Besides, this week the Kraft BBQ is a better deal at Schnucks.

Interesting question about how much SNS will be reimbursed for a coupon they don't give you face value for. From how I understand coupon processing, most stores outsource coupons processing to a clearinghouse. Once they send the coupons to the clearinghouse they are sorted and scanned electronically. Coupons that cannot be scanned are processed manually. So, I would think if the coupon is scanable SNS would be reimbursed for the face value. If it is not scanable who knows.

  4. ShopNSave is so "strict" and careful on IP coupons because I think they have received fake ones before. Are fake ones scannable also? Sometimes, a manufacturer's "NOT" IP coupon that is higher than the product's retail value, ShopNSave would accept it at its face value especially if the customer is impatient, bought lots of grociers and there's a long line behind her because it takes time for the cashier to look for the item's price on the computer. LOL. :)

  5. Jeri,

There is a $2 off A-1 coupon (I believe it was in the 5/10 insert), which would make the steak sauce deal even better!

There is a coupon for a free box of Wheat Thins if you buy a box of Ritz in the 5/17 inserts. So, do you think you could use that coupon and the $1 off Ritz coupon, since the "free" coupon is technically for the Wheat Thins?

Also, C&H is on sale at SNS for 3/$5, according to their ad in the Post. With the coupon, on Thursday, that would bring it down to $1.03 (less that Schnucks, even with it doubled), or less if using an Entertainment book coupon.

  6. coupon.girl - Did I finally get the message correct with overage and IP's? I'm sure fake coupons scan or the store wouldn't be so concerned about losing money on coupons.

Staci - I must be blind missing the A-1 deal. Or maybe it's becuase I have so much A-1 and Contry Bob's in the pantry.

I was just emailing Leigh Anne about the Ritz/Wheat Thins coupons. I think you would be able to purchase a box of Ritz and a box of Wheat Thins and use both the B1G1 & the $1 Ritz coupons, but I'm not sure. Athough, the coding looks like you should be able to. Let me know if you buy them and it works.

I just added the C&H sugar deal to my post. Leigh Anne earlier pointed out Cool Whip in Sunday's ad. I glance at the Sunday and Wednesday ads, but don't pay much attention to them. Do you know if it's common for SNS to put items in those ads and not the Weekly or two week ad?

  7. Not sure on the ads, as I haven't really paid too much attention to the one in the Post, just happened to notice it this time because I had seen the sugar coupon already.

I will post after my SNS trip on the crackers, I will probably just have a Wheat Thins coupon available as a back-up, just in case the B1G1 doesn't work.

Thanks for all your hard work!

  8. Kind of late for an update, but I'll post anyway, in case anyone checks before heading out...

I didn't have any problem using the B1G1 Ritz/Wheat Thin Cracker in combo with a $1 on the Ritz, so that ended up being a money-maker! Would cost $0.20 if you arent' using an Entertainment Q.

SNS is also offering the Kraft BBQ sauce catalina deal that is posted in the Schnucks section. Schnucks is still a better deal, unless your SNS will take the $1 IP Qs. Still a great deal at SNS if you have $0.75 Qs from several weeks back.

Thanks for the tip on the Sara Lee/Ballpark tearpad. Found one and used one!

There were a BUNCH of the 6 oz. Wild Harvest yogurts in the discounted section and many had decent dates. They were marked $0.25.

Went in with a $5 catalina, bought $50, spent just under $15 and got another $5 catalina.

I had my first coupon override today! WooHoo!
