  1. The candles are also free at Walgreens this coming week - buy 2 for $4, use the $3 printable and get a $1 Register Reward back. Or make $1 profit by buying 3 for $6, using 2 $3 printables and getting the $1 RR. Yeah for free candles!

  2. Would Walgreens accept the $3 IPQ since it's more than the price of each candle?

  3. Am anxious now to use Qs which are more than the price of each item because most times, cashiers tend to "not push them through" and give me "the look" making me feel that I'm doing something unethical and illegal. :(

  4. coupon.girl - The only way Walgreens can except a coupon for more than the price of an item, is to adjust the coupon down to the price of the product. In my expeirence, the cashier had to call the manager. It was big hassle.

I have no problem using coupons for more than the price of a product (exept at Walgreens). If the cashier questions it at all I say I would be for them to reduce the coupon value. Retailers are reimbursed for the full value - even when they reduce the value to the consumer.

  5. I think the register will accept an overage on an item if there is another like item in the transaction. That may be what CJ is referring to. When purchasing two same items with two identical coupons, I have had an overage go through on the first item, but get caught on the second. This seems to baffle the cashiers. Of course, every coupon is different and I am anxious to try the Glade scenario as CJ described above with two coupons and three items to absorb the overage and avoid the beep.

  6. en and CJ - I learn something new everyday. I'll have to give the (2) $3 coupon a try also. Do either of you know when an item is priced 2/$4 what price does the third item ring up as? Most of the time at Walgreens when an item is on sale for #/$ if you only buy one it rings up at regular price and not the sale price.

  7. I'm not sure what the third item will ring up as. I'm fairly certain that you can buy just one item if you are using a Walgreens in-ad coupon and it says 4/$5 or whatever. (Not the case here, obviously.)

There is a $3/2 coupon in 8/9 SS that would make two candles free including the $1 RR if anyone is nervous about an overage. (There is also a free candle coupon that you could probably take advantage of if you have two of them.)

  8. My 2 candles this morning rang up as $2 each so if you buy 3 they should all show as $2 each. I havent tried using the 2 $3 coupons yet but I've heard it does work because if you buy 3, you have $6 in product, so the $6 in coupons should take. But some Walgreens stores are stricter than others so it may not work everywhere. I'm gonna try it later today.

  10. Jeri,

I just got back from Walgreens and had no problems using two $3 when buying 3 of the 2 oz. Glade candles. They both scanned with no problem! That was at the UC Walgreens at Delmar and McKnight.

    Thanks for more great deals!

  11. Looks like the $3 Fragrance Collection by Glade IPQ is gone. Could not find it with any zip code.:(

  12. Instead of trying the 2 Glade $3 IPs on 3 candles, I ended up doing 2 transactions of 2 candles each. So I got 4 candles free instead of making $1 profit on 3. Either way, we all got some free candles :) I burned one of the purple ones last night, it smells so good!
