Dierbergs Deals: 2/9/10 - 2/15/10

Dierbergs has started to scrutinize printable coupons. Their new guidelines - they do not accept a printable coupon over 50% of the price. A cashier told me the 50% threshold was the original price, another reader was told the sale price. Ask at your store how they are dealing with these new guidelines.

Remember:
1. Dierbergs doubles coupons .40 or less.
2. Limits 15 total coupons doubled.
3. Limits 3 identical coupons.
4. On a 10/$10 sale you get the sale price on just one item.

I highlight only the best deals. Take a look at Dierbergs' full ad here.

  1. Do you have any insight into the reason why local grocery stores are so strict on internet coupons? If it has the microprint, then they get reimbursed, right?

  2. They accepted "fake" internet printable coupons before so now they are being "sooo careful".

  3. I had a checker tell me that there is so much fraud in internet coupons. People can take one and make as many copies as they want. Some of the grocery stores are not being reimbursed for them.

  4. Just as Linda said above, unfortunately people are copying them. So, they can take one set of copies to a store and use them. All will have different security codes on them so they seem fine. Then they take a copy of the same set to another store to use. This 2nd store doesn't know they already used those codes somewhere else. When it comes time for reimbursement, the first to send in that coupon will get reimbursed. Clear as mud??
Bummer for us honest folks, the system has to be abused! I get LOTS of great deals without cheating the system......

  5. From what I've read, they can trace Internet printables back to the IP adress it was printed from. (This is why you never want to trade printables with someone because you don't know what they might do.) I wish they would catch and prosecutre anyone copying printables.

Like Andrea said there are lots of great deals - no need to even think about doing something illegal.
