A reader found frozen meals marked down at Walgreens and picked up a great deal. If you're heading to Walgreens, you might want to see if your stores has Bertolli marked down too.
Bertolli Frozen Meals - $2.19
$1 - 3/14/10 RP
Final price: $1.19 each
Thanks, Becky!

Thanks, I'll check my store. The South County Walgreens has a ton of items on clearance, looks like they are getting ready to remodel.
ReplyDeleteI picked up lasagna for 2.19 and they had some walgreens ice creams for $1.29 and one flavor of Ben and Jerry's for $1.29.
ReplyDeleteI found walgreens brand paper plates (like dixie plates) for .75/pack too.
Oh and crisco sticks for $1.29
Mine had frozen meals like Lean Cuisine (can't remember price), El Charrito (fifty cents), box Weight Watchers giant ice cream bars ($1.59), Mrs. Smith frozen pumpkin and apple pie $1.29) and others too...
ReplyDeleteHi - CJ, Liz and Lisa
ReplyDeleteOne store in the City is already remodeling. I would imagine there will be lots of clearance itmes at the stores the next few months.
Thanks for sharing what you've found.
The Kirkwood store got remodeled last week. I walked in yesterday and the whole store was rearranged. The candles are now next to the pet food, that's weird!
ReplyDeleteMaking room for liquor...
ReplyDeleteLean Cuisine's were $1.09 (pizza, chicken panini, chicken flatbread). Wish I could find some coupons...
ReplyDeleteThe Wags over in Columbia, IL has already started selling beer and wine. One end cap facing the front of the store was changed over to stocking wine, while a rear-in cooler lost the food and now contain all beer.
ReplyDeleteWord from a manager is that the Wags up off 367 at the corner of Lusher and Redman is schedule to be first store on the MO side to begin selling booze. Hopefully, the county cops drive over from the other side of 367 and run off any bums begging for money.
I picked up 12 meals. Also Cool Whip was .55, Deerfield sausage .40, Wags push-up icecreams were .90 plus there is .35 wags coupon out.
ReplyDeleteWhy did they quit selling liquor before? Back in 95 they were selling it when I worked there.
ReplyDeleteWags is owned by the Mormon Church and the decision to not sell liquor filtered down through the church. With so much competition from the new CVS stores in Saint Louis, I guess that they have had to reconsider their prior decision and rescind. It's all about "THE MIGHTY BUCK"!!
ReplyDeleteI live in the city and at times panhandlers are a problem at retail stores. Whenever I see someone asking for money, I report it to the manager. The managers have always acted right away to "run off" the problem and they are very thankful I reported the situations.
ReplyDeleteThere was an article in the Post-Dispatch a few weeks ago about Walgreens again selling beer and wine.

They said it was discontinued becase of the complex state and local laws took too much of the managers time. Now, new technology makes it easier and more efficient to administer.
My opionion - CVS is out performing Walgreens and Walgreens is doing everything they can to be more like CVS - store remodels testing loyalty cards and liquor dept.
The CVS in the City is not currently selling liquor. They can't get their liquor license through the city. I would imagine Walgreens won't have much success either getting the licenses approved in the City.
Anonymous - It is an Urban Myth that Walgreens is owned by the Mormon Church. Walgreens is a publicly owned company on the NYSE - WAGS.
ReplyDeleteNo panhandlers at my Wags but after school it becomes a hangout for loud teenagers, inside and outside. One day there were 5 of them sitting on the floor near the milk cooler. The employees dont seem to care about running them off.
ReplyDeleteI am tired of dodging skateboarders in the Walgreens parking lot.
ReplyDeleteNow I'm invisioning milk mustached, skateboarding panhandlers .....
ReplyDeleteYou cant buy Starbucks Frappaccino 4 packs at the Kirkwood Wags anymore, they got rid of them to make room for the booze. The frozen food section is pretty bare these days, that will be likely be the next to go. I'm waiting to see what else disappears in the next couple weeks and then I'm emailing the manager to give him my 2 cents on the matter.
