My mom received the candy corn coupon yesterday. We both received the $5 off $5 Halloween purchase. I received $1 off Skippy and Skippy was on sale last week for 1.67. I received $1/2 Skippy, but didn't use it. The rest of the coupons were unremarkable. Kelly
ReplyDeleteI've been getting fantastic coupons from the machine over the past few weeks. Some examples: $2 off $6 of toothpaste (or shampoo or deodorant) - no brand specified! They are good for a couple of weeks, so I've been pairing these with whatever brand is on sale or free after coupons/eb. I've also been getting $5 off $25 every week since early September. CVS sent me a mailer notifying I would be getting them each week until the end of the year! They have been paying me to bring home $25+ (or $50!) worth of stuff each week. So crazy. I almost feel guilty.

BTW, the cereal deal is better if you had those GM at Home coupons. $1 off any box of cinnamon toast crunch. So after ECB I got them for a dollar a box.
I was hoping for more $5 off halloween stuff. I got prizes for my boys' halloween parties but could use some more.
I got the candy corn, M&Ms and TV coupons. Better than nothing but I'd love a $4/$20 every once in a while and was hoping for another $5 Hallween coupon. I'd like to know what determines which coupons each customer gets. I've shopped there at least once a week for almost a year now and the coupons havent been very good for the past several months for me.
ReplyDeleteMy best guess for why I am getting good coupons is that I bought diapers there a few times (with coupons and only when they were a great deal). I don't tend to buy anything at CVS unless it is free or really cheap.
ReplyDeleteFor my first few transactions, I probably didn't have many eb, so I paid mostly oop. (Now I have so many eb, my oop is usually under $1.)
Before I was getting the $5/$25 every week, I skipped a few weeks here and there. My thought is they probably would reward irregular customers with coupons to try to make them into regular customers.
I haven't had prescriptions filled there. There's probably some sophisticated forumula for tagging customers, but I'm guessing it was the diaper purchases and irregular visits that got me on the good list.
Erin - Maybe I shop at CVS too much! I'd try to skip a week occasionally but the deals are too good, I cant stay away!
ReplyDeleteI can't figure it out at all. My mom gets many many 5 off 20. I use to get 10 off 50 almost every week and now I havne't got anything like that in over three months. Even the employees said they can't figure it out.
ReplyDeleteI have the same shopping pattern as Erin and get lame coupons most of the time. I do get emails from time to time for $4 off $20.

I have 3 CVS stores in town and have noticed that a particular store always prints out $3/15 coupons. Last night I scanned my card twice and got two of them. I've tried at the other stores and have never received them.

Months ago, I went to CVS website and changed my e-mail address on my Extra Bucks Card account. I used another e-mail ad that I have. Every now and then, I will receive $ off $$ coupon and CVS coupons for store items on my e-mail. If I don't receive again after a few weeks, I would update my account and switch back to the other e-mail. Then, back and forth. hehehe. I think this makes my account on CVS database very active that's why they would regularly send me good coupons. I hope this works for someone else also.

ReplyDeletecoupon.girl - Great idea! I've had the same email adress on my CVS account since I signed up and havn't receive a coupon by email for a year and a half. I'm changing my email with them now.
