Saved 75% This Week

I always tell people to take advantage of the best deals, even if it's not completely what they need -  it will all work out. And I know they look at me like I'm crazy.  Last week, I stocked up on coffee creamer and tortilla chips at Shop 'n Save -  this week salsa, queso, and coffee at Dierbergs.  It really does work itself out.

Walgreens
I did four transactions at Walgreens and rolled my Register Rewards from previous weeks.  My picture is short a Sunday paper and a piece of Halloween chocolate.  The newspaper (minus the coupons) went straight into the recycling bin and the chocolate..... well we all know where that went.

Before sales & coupons: $67.22
Spent: $1.27
Saved: $65.95 for a 98% savings

Target
I loved this deal - a free single serve pizza with the purchase of two DiGirono's.  Not only did I have a coupon for the DiGiorno, but also a $5 Target Giftcard from a few weeks ago.

Before sales & coupons: $14.37
Spent: $2.00
Saved: $12.37 for a 86% savings

Schnucks
I had $12 in Catalina coupons expiring last Sunday and there was nothing in the Schnuck ad I needed.  I was out of burger and was wanting to try a recipe with sesame oil, so that is what I spent my Catalinas on.

Spent: $2.52
Saved: $12.01 for a 83% savings

Dierbergs

Year to Date Totals
Spent: $1,764.41 ($40 weekly average)
Saved: $6,261.60 ($142 weekly average)

Splurge Funds: $71.62

For those who don't read my blog on a regular basis, my splurge funds are the difference between what I've actually spent and my $50 budget. I use it for those items I never find on sale or that I don't have coupons for.

  1. I stumbled onto the best deal last night at PetsMart - Purina One dog food bags (not the trial size pouches) on clearance for $2 and I had $2 coupons. So I got 3 bags for free and will donate them to the Bi State Pet Food Pantry. I love unexpected freebies, especially when I can pass the items along to people (and pets!) in need :)

  3. Jeri - Not sure if it's every PetsMart or just Brentwood. I was hoping the Purina One cat food would be on clearance too but it wasnt.
