Thanks you Janet for helping us all here at Coupon STL!

Way to go, Janet! :)
ReplyDeleteHow did you sneak your way past the $10 off $50 purchase? its only one per person, so, unless you had 10 people there you technically broke the rules. This woman should not be praised
ReplyDeleteHi Anonymous - Janet does multiple shopping trips on a $10 off $50 Thursday. She dosen't sneak around anything.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I undersand what you mean by "broke the rules".
If you contact Shop N Save's (314-984-0900) their policy states that you can only have one 10 dollar off a 50 transaction per person. That means a person could not put $100 dollars worth of groceries on the checkout line and stop the transaction at 50 dollars for them to take 10 off and then do a whole new transaction for the other 50 in order to receive another 10 dollars off. My point is unless she did all of that shopping in one transaction (meaning only 10 dollars was taken off the whole amount) , which is highly doubtful, she really shouldn’t have been able to make multiple transaction resulting in multiple 10 dollar off 50 purchases. The only way this would have been within the rules of Shop N Save is if she had as many people as transactions
ReplyDelete10 dollar off a 50 transaction per person.
ReplyDeleteCorrect me if I am wrong but it sounds like she does one more than one transaction. She rings up one transaction or cart then pays. She only technically has to walk out the door and back in again for a 2nd transaction. Some stories do not even require that.
Awesome trip Janet.
ReplyDeleteAsk at the store you CAN go to your car & right back in for another transaction over & over again! I've done it many times & they don't care!
ReplyDeleteAwesome job Janet!! :)
Hi All,
ReplyDeleteTYVM CJ =)
&
To Anonymous-Hi, my name is Janet-love me/hate me/take me/leave me-never have I asked for praise-everything I have done is with the goodness of my heart. =) Whether I shopped 10 stores one time or 1 store 10 times you missed a very important part and that is I shop with Manager approval to benefit all parties involved. But Thank you for your opinion and you have a great day. =)
New readers please note I shop one $50 transaction per store visit and yes I do multiple transactions. When the coupon stars align and a good Catalina deal is going on I take advantage of the deals. I do put time/effort into working the deals and it benefits plenty of people near and far.
I am always willing to share what ever I can and will continue to do so.
Boy Jeri--You are WonderWoman in getting that post/pic up. Maybe I should have prepared more for responses on my part =) hehehehehehehehehehe =)
And to all-I am always checking in willing to share/help out I love Jeri's site and you will find many other readers willing to do the same. =)
Have a Great Sunny afternoon to All. =)
Hi Anonymouses (If that's what you call two Anonymous or maybe I should say Anonymousi)
ReplyDeleteFirst of all I want to say Janet and I have become good friends online. We've never met in person. But I would love to go shopping with her someday.
Yes, It is against SNS policy to split transactions or even do 2 carts in a row for one customer.
Janet & I have emailed back and forth about how we shop. Both Janet and I will purchase a transaction and take our merchandise to the car or even home before we shop a second time. We've both talked to the managers at the store we shop. They don't have a problem with us shopping this way.
Have you had a different experience?
yes, very different. In either case I called corporate and they said its supposed to be one transaction per person. In good faith I follow that rule and do not try to abuse loopholes even if the manager wrongly gives me permission to do so. Helping people or not, It's all a matter of eithics.
ReplyDeleteHi Jeri,
ReplyDeleteI received you email and had to laugh-feeling like a Rhino over here today.
And just had to make this statement:
Please to All if you feel you must give SNS Corp a call (314-984-0900)Please do so and tell them you know of a kind, courtious and Loyal customer who has "spent" over $1400.00 in your store over the last two weeks with her many transactions and who has shared many coupons with your customers not to mention the additional dollars she has brought to your store with her coupon use please do so I am sure they would rather me spend may hard earned dollars at Wal-Mart in the name of ethics. =)
Yes very different. =)
Good job, Janet!!!
ReplyDeleteWay to go Janet!
ReplyDeleteBajeezus Janet! Good job. Are you doing the casting call for the TLC show :)
ReplyDelete---taking a break from my long long day to check this forum, and had to weigh in on this---
ReplyDeleteJanet,
I for one think you are ethical and awesome :)
I actually did not know that it was against company policy to have two carts of groceries and stop at $50 for each. I had not read that anywhere, and the store that I shop at often (but not always) offers to stop the transaction when you hit $50 for *any* customer, so I sort of assumed it was allowed. I have shopped multiple carts back to back a couple times with permission, but usually will leave the store and come back later or go to another store. Good to know at least... I don't want anyone getting in trouble. There are multiple stores within close distance from my house, so not a huge deal, however, my general experience is that a store would rather have me come back to *their* store than go to a different one.
You are really unbelievable with your savings. Unfortunately, even if I wanted to go this week I would not have been able to due to other events in my life, but I would not have foreseen this week being such a boon :) Crazy crazy girlfriend. I don't *even* want to know how long it took you to plan that and make trips. It sometimes takes me 1/2 a day to plan 2 trips.
Great job Janet!
ReplyDeleteJanet--thanks for sharing your pics, Jeri for posting them! This blog has been a huge inspiration to me--I spend around $200 a month for groceries for 4 people--probably will be less this year because my littlest is out of diapers. The checkers at SNS often ask me, "do you need to split your order". I rarely do this because it is too complicated for me. Janet, you are a couponing mastermind--you should submit your shopping trip to Savings Angel--they are looking for great couponers to try out for Extreme Couponing. They want to promote couponers on the show that donate their stockpiles to others.
ReplyDeleteWay to go Janet! I have even had store managers ask me if I would like to split my orders. You are not doing anything wrong. I wish I could do like you do!! I am trying!! Thanks for sharing your shopping success!
ReplyDeleteAllison
I just wanted to say that I am so impressed with Jeri, Janet, and anyone else that can do what you do with coupons. I have been couponing for a while and still have not put in the time to master what you have. With that being said, I am saving so much more and am always excited when I can get the best deal. I may not be perfect but I have great role models:)
ReplyDeleteNicely done. I have to get my act together to start saving some money myself, far from being remotely as a good as some people.
ReplyDeleteHi couponmama - I think it was when SNS had $10 off $50 Thursday in January. A reader (sorry I don't remember who) either left a comment or emailed be about how her store would no longer split orders - they had gotten an email from corporate. So she contacted Corporate and got the same answer.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I've always understood, they weren't suppose to split orders but some managers didn't care and others did.
My opinion is that the final word is what the store manager. Their rear is on the line for the store to be profitable.
Congrats janet! What a great job:)
ReplyDeleteGreat job, Janet!!
ReplyDeleteJanet! Thank you so much for doing this and for donating! I am very blessed in my life and do not have to sweat the grocery budget, but I have found couponing to be FUN! and many weeks I shop just to donate. I limit myself to 25 cents or less on any one item that I donate, but have found that with a little planning, a LOT of good can be done. I thought I was getting a lot for the money, but you have conquered it, congrats and good for you.
ReplyDeleteWOW! is all I can say! : )
ReplyDeleteJanet, I just have to say some people are jealous..... I think you did a great job!!!!
ReplyDeleteI was restocking our modest food pantry at the church today and thought about you, Janet!
ReplyDeleteI would have to get more shelving to put away the amount you bought... Ahhhh what a great problem to have!
Thanks for all the tips you have given me! A lot of people who are homeless, and/or out of work and barely making it would want to thank you too.
And of course you too, Jeri, and all my couponing sisters!
xxoo
(i finally signed up for a Google acct, so I don't have to type my whole name out each time :-)
Definitely congrats! I so want to meet you, Jeri, CJ and the other coupon masters. We should set up a meet and greet at one of the parks when the weather warms. Everyone bring their own food and just compare notes and trade coupons.
ReplyDeleteFor what it's worth, my store manager will also allow the cashiers to stop at the first $50 and break into two transactions on Thurs. I'm one who does one list first, makes a car drop, and then goes again - way easier to keep track of for me.
- Lisa R.
Hi Lisa R - I love the idea of a meet up!
ReplyDeleteI too have to only do one transaction at a time. I need the time to regroup between.
No matter what corportate says, the bottom line is what the store manager allows or dosen't. It's his/her rear on the line.
Janet - Where do you get all of your coupons?
ReplyDeleteHi All
ReplyDeleteYou guys are just AWESOME =)It is My pleasure to be able to share/talk with each and everyone one of you. Together we make smarter shopping choices and play ideas off one another in the hopes of doing a little better.
Jeri-A Coupon Meet and Great =) Sounds fun to me =)
And to Anonymous about the coupon question: I trade for them and I get about 3-5 newpaper inserts per week from family/friends/clients. I have 3-4 persons that I buy coupons from in different parts of the US cause different areas get different value coupons and I usually pay about $.03 per coupon if I need to. Just about every store we visit has some type of coupon, you just have to look around.
HTH
Have a great evening to All.
