Walgreens $5 Scenario - Week of 5/22/11

The most cost effective way to shop at Walgreens is to roll Register Rewards - spend Register Rewards on products that trigger more.  I suggest checking out at the Cosmetic Counter.  Multiple transaction always go smoother at a less busy register.

  1. Another reason to check out at the cosmetics counter, they have sales 'quotas' to reach in that dept. It doesn't have to be cosmetics, just sales at that register.
I am not sure if they get bonuses for reaching them, or the particulars of it. But if you can score great deals and help someone else---BONUS!

  2. Hi Tonya - I hadn't thought of that. That is a great reason to checkout at cosmetics.

  3. Cosmetics does get a bonus for certain items. Usually they will be at there counter. But Any sell would be great for the department.

  5. Thanks for the ideas, I am going to try some of these. I am ordering some coupons from mycouponclippingservice.com so I can stock up on some of the items...

  6. I attempted this tonight, but like an idiot, went when I was tired. I totally forgot to use my coupons. Can I go back tomorrow to get credit for them with my receipt, or maybe return the items and redo the transactions?

  7. I've learned my lesson. Tried shopping late Sunday night and many of the RR items were out of stock. From now on, I will get to Walgreens as early as possible.

Also want to share that the associates at my local Walgreens were very helpful. For some reason my RRs didn't print after the transaction, so they refunded me the amount in cash, plus tax. I also tried to use a coupon from the May Walgreens booklet, $3/1 Kotex Tampons 36 ct., but for some reason they don't carry a 36 ct. in the Kotex brand, so they let me use them on the Walgreens brand which was already $1.50 cheaper. I was a very happy customer!

  8. Hi Michelle - The coupon selection in the inserts do vary by region of the country. I've even seen them vary in the same town.

Hi CL Parks - If you forgot to use your coupons, I would go back and talk to the manager. Ask them which they would prefer to do - take your coupons or have you return the itmes and repurchase them.

Hi Jessica - Sounds like you found a great Walgreens to shop at.
