Iowa State University |
Today starts my "College Grand Tour."
I'm dropping off my youngest in Ames at Iowas State, heading to Minneapolis to pick up the oldest (and as much as his stuff that will fit in the mini van,) back through Ames to have brunch/lunch with both kids and then heading to California - oldest is going to grad school at Cal Berkeley.
I'm going to feel like a long haul trucker when this trip is over - five hours drive time to Ames, 2 hours to my parents in northwest Iowa (I'm spending the night,) 4 hours to Minneapolis, 32 hours of driving from Minneapolis to San Francisco and another 32 hours home.
It's going to be a good week for couponing in St Louis. I'll attempt to keep the grocery store match ups going while I'm gone, but I'll need your help. If you find good deals at Schnucks or Dierbergs with Super Triple Coupons, please leave a comment on those pages.
Wow! Safe travels to you and the boys!
ReplyDeleteJeri, Too bad there aren't any coupons for gas. ;-) Drive safely and enjoy those boys!!! Amanda
ReplyDeleteCongrats to you and the fam for making that next step in life.. Be safe and have a good time.
ReplyDeleteA whole week without Jeri, boy are we missing you!!!!

We sure are!! I appreciate everyone helping out with price checks and other info this week while Jeri has been away. I love the interaction on this blog :)
DeleteGood luck, and we'll miss you, too. We agree with all the comments above.
ReplyDeleteWow, I never realized just how much i depend on you. Lol, I don't even know how to look at the adds with out u... I am getting all nervous trying to figure things out. Hope all went well. I have boys r boys ages..but mine r Irish ... they will be living with me in well into their 30's. Damn Irish mother spoiled them. Thanks for all the hard coupon work you do for us. Hi All - I got back late Thursday evening and spent Friday sleeping. It was a very long, hard trip, but both boys are settled in at their new collages.
ReplyDeleteOut and back I only got a good look at one of the four mountain ranges I passed over. Rain, fog and smoke from the Rim Fire in California obscured the views for all but the Sierra Nevada's on the way out. I usually love driving in the mountains, but not so much on this trip.
Thanks goodness I had a stockpile of personal/cleaning items at home the youngest could take with him. We stopped at Target for an extension cord and the laundry detergent aisle was completely wiped out.
Thanks everyone for keeping the Schnucks & Dierbergs deals updated while I was gone.
Glad your back safe & sound - missed you!
DeleteSounds like I missed a really good week couponing - but there are more important things in life.
DeleteWelcome home!! I somehow managed to navigate $10 SNS day without match ups, pretty proud of myself! Paid $21 for $55 worth after SNS discount, Ent Book coupon, $13 in coupons and $6 in beer rebates. Paid for it all with loose change that I'd been saving and turned into a SNS gift card at the Coinstar machine.
DeleteThanks for all your comments while I was gone. I was afraid everyone would have forgotten about Coupon STL after being gone for so long.
DeleteFat chance on forgetting about you! I checked the blog frequently to make sure you were coming back. ;) It sounds awfully grueling--your boys are so lucky to have such devoted parents! I hope you enjoyed your time with them. Carrie
