  1. Was across the river in Columbia. Both CVS and Wags have drop the Valentine leftovers to 75% off, except what was left is a joke. A gallon of 2% is selling for $2.49 right now at both stores. The real surprise is that Wags has begun selling beer and wine.

  2. Hi kas - Any of the Valentine goodies worth buying are long gone at the Walgreens I shop.

There is quite a lengthy article in todays Post-Dispatch about Walgreens adding a liquor department.

  3. They had one 14 years ago at the one I used to work at & then they took it out.....why did they take them out to begin with?

  4. I just got done reading the P-D article. Some of the Wags that were part of strip mall even had a sit down restuarant. The Wags that were at the 'closed' Jamestown Mall and Northwest Plaza even has a restuarant.

One story on why local Wags quit selling was that Dirt Cheap had taken away a good chunk of the smoke business away from other B&M. When someone was buying a pack or carton, there was a good chance that person might also grab a case.

  5. Hi Rachel - The Post-Dispatch talked about with today's programable cash registers that Walgreens will be able to manage the local rules and regulations easier.

Hi kas - I can't imagine eating at Walgreens.

  6. Walgreens has so little shelf space as it is, I hope the new liquor departments wont squeeze other products.
