Post-Dispatch Coupon Preview - 11/28/10

Sunday's St Louis Post-Dispatch has only one coupon insert - P&G

NO $10 off $50 at Shop 'n Save this week.

Note: The new CVS in South City (Gravois/Chippewa) is still selling the Sunday paper for $1.50.  The new store in Creve Cour might still be at that price too.

A few if my favorite coupons this week:
  • B1G1 - Buy Olay Body Wash get Olay Hand & Body Lotion FREE
  • B2G1 - Buy (2) Vick's Products get (1) Puffs FREE
  • B1G1 - Pantene
  • B2G1 - Gillette Deodorants
  • $10 off Oral-B Pulsonic Professional Care, Sonic Complete Rechargeable Toothbrush
  • $4 off Gillette Fusion ProGlide
  • $2 off Gillette Fusion Shave Prep or Gillette ProSeries Skin Product
  • $1 off Gillette Deodorant
  • $1 off Herbal Essences
  • $1 off Tide
  • .25 off Bounty
Remember: You want multiple coupons to use when a product is at a rock bottom price. When it's a good coupon insert week, I purchase 4 or 5 papers and sometimes acquire more. At first, I thought it was crazy to spend money to save money. But I've always saved much more than my investment.

Sam's Club is still selling the Sunday Post-Dispatch at a reduced price, $1.50. Dollar Tree and DEAL$ no longer sell the paper.

  1. Hi Ms. Jeri and everyone! If there's only one insert, how many Sunday papers do you usually buy?

Just getting one insert turns me off most of the time. :(

  2. Oh, I was hoping SnS will have Coupon Thursday this week. The store I went to wouldn't let me use my "Save $20 on your next shopping coupon" I got from buying one of the $100 Gift Cards on Entertainment Book. They said it's under the "amusement" restriction. huhuhu...

Has anyone been lucky? And at what store? TIA.:I

  3. Realize this is the P&G insert that has never been in the Journal. Except for the cheap Gain dish soap, I find P&G MQ don't offer that much savings, even when there is a catalina promo.

In a few weeks, the Holidays will probably cut back on inserts in the newspapers. We might receive none on the day after Christmas and only the P&G insert on 1/2/11.

  4. Hi coupon.girl - I was hoping SNS had $10 off $50 too. What did they mean "amusement" restriction? Is that a restriction printed somewhere on the Catalina?

I always end up with a minimum of (3) inserts. I buy one on Sat. for the preview, one is delivered to the house and the neighbor gives me their insert.

I don't buy addtional ones when there is only a P&G insert. I agree with kas, I don't find my self using that many P&G coupons. But I know people who haven't given up brand loaylty when it come to Tide, Charmin, Cascade, Bounty ...... I would imagine they would pick up a few more than I do.

  5. There are lots of PG coupons to get some more RR at Walgreens for the BF deals that end today(the gilette skin care ends up being a $2 MM, Free herbal essences, and crest $1 MM) - All 3 stores I went to this morning still had most of this stuff available!

  6. Oh yeah and the B1G1 olay coupon gets you a body wash and lotion for $1 after RR!

  7. Yes, Ms. Jeri, "amusement" is one of the printed restrictions on the $20 cat. Q. Customer service said that Entertainment Book is under that category. :(

  8. The P&G insert comes at a good time since there is a new $20/$50 rebate out for Secret, Pantene, Olay, Venus, Cover Girl and Herbal Essence. I also keep the Oral B and Crest coupons for future sales.

  9. I did buy several Entertainment Books at the Lindbergh/South County Shop and Save using the $20 Catalinas for buying Kohl's $100 GCs. My daughter had called first to make sure it was acceptable. If you are going to try to purchase there, I would recommend you call first. If they say "Yes", I would make sure I remembered the name of the person I talked with. I thought this was a good way to use those $20 Catalinas.

  10. Hi, KC! When did you buy the Entertainment Books with the $20 Cat. Q? I tried last Wednesday at another store. I wonder if SnS has just recently set a new rule about this. :I

  11. Thanks, TwinMom - I ran out late last night to pick up a few more things at Walgreens.

  12. I meant, on the EB, I tried last Friday.

Ms. Jeri, did you happen to be at Wags Hampton cor Gravois, then at the other Wags near Aldi? hmmm...

  13. I bought the EBs on Tuesday and Wednesday last week. No problems at all on Tuesday. On Wednesday the lady in Customer Service wasn't sure and checked with the manager. He said it was fine. However, I was glad I bought them then as I wasn't so sure I would have gotten the same answer later. That is why I would call first and remember the name of the person speaking, if the answer is positive.
I posted about this when it happened. The final price was not what I expected. I thought $30 price - $20 Catalina would be $10 (maybe tax as well). However the price was $8.69 (if I remember correctly). Taxes on the Catalina was also subtracted.

  14. Much thanks, KC. I e-mailed SnS corporate. No reply yet. I will still try to buy an EB at other SnS stores. If no luck, I'll just have to buy the "on sale" items this week that don't seem to be on Coupon Thursdays anymore. I have to do "tetris" in our freezer though. I have until Friday to do all of this. :) Got (2) $20 Cat. Qs to spend. :)

Again to Ms. Jeri, did you happen to be at Wags Hampton cor Gravois, then at the other Wags near Aldi last Saturday night? :)

  15. Hi coupon.girl - No, not me at those Wags on Saturday night. I was at Kingshighway/Arsenal. I do most of my Wags shopping there.

I have just (1) $20 Cat. I'm going to spend it on things we like that never seem to go on sale. I'm sure I won't come home with very much for that $20.
