Walgreens Field Notes - Week of 2/27/11

A few additional comments for what is going on with Walgreens sales this week.  See this week's Deals and coupon match-ups HERE.
  • Sinex - Register Reward is not printing today.  But the in-ad coupon for $5.49 NyQuil or DayQuil does work on Sinex NyQuil or Dayquil. Pick it up for $1.49 with the $4 coupon in 2/27/11 P&G.(Thanks, JB!)
  • Motrin - Motrin PM is included in the Register Reward deal.  Buy (2) and use the $6 off 2 coupon from (1/09/11 SS), pay $0.00 and get a $3 Register Reward.
  • Motrin IB  - The as this week says in the words that Motrin IB Pain Relief, 20 ct. is Free after Register Reward.  I stopped at two stores - neither had 20 ct. on the self or even a place for the product.
  • NasoGel - There were peelies on this product at the store I shop.  It was a small pick dot - it might be easy to miss.
  • Get $15 in Coupons Offer - This offer in mentioned in this  weeks ad, but it doesn't give details.  But, Walgreens March Coupon book (available at the ad stand) has all the information of participating products and coupons you'll receive.
  • Colgate - Besides the coupons I mentioned in the weekly deals, there is a $1 off Colgate Walgreens coupon in the Holiday/Winter Diabetes & You Magazine.  But, you'll need to hurry  - it expires on 2/28.11 (Thanks, Staci!)

If you have any additional info for Walgreens this week, please leave a comment.

  2. Hi Anonymous - Don't know. The offer could have been pulled or it could just be a computer programing problem.

  3. I think this is the problem I posted last week with this deal - when a cat is dollar driven (purchase $X in such product) and you use coupons, many Walgreens do not print the cat if the coupons bring the dollar total below the required amount. I was told I did not get my cat because my coupons brought my total under $20 (also under $15, so no $5 cat either). If you are buying X# then coupons have no effect.

  4. I also wanted to mention that in the anti aging product there is a 1 off coupon inside. Yeah, that means another mm. My husband said he is going to start taking it at lunch. I will let you now if he looks years yonger. lol
Pixie, I think that the cat just must be over because when they had the deal a few weeks ago we got the RR when the coupons brought it down to a MM.

  5. our wags was already out of the motrin pm before noon. i hate it when a sale item isn't stocked well enough to last through the first day.

  6. Went to Wags Arsenal cor Kingshighway at noon today. Elderly lady cashier and manager won't let me use the Wags coupon from the Diabetes & You expiring 2/28 with the $1 manufacturer's coupon from the same book on (1) Colgate toothpaste. They both said that only (1) coupon per item even if the other one is a Wags coupon. I just left the toothpaste with them and walked out of the store. :(

  9. Hi, Anon. :)
From the Diabetes and You book: (1) is Wags coupon (coded like the in-ad coupon) and (1) is just an ordinary manufacturer's coupon. Per Wags coupon policy, I can use BOTH coupons on (1) Colgate toothpaste. Cashier and manager would NOT let me though. They both acted like they really know their store's policy. :(

  10. I was at a 24-hr Wags at 5am (had to drop off friend at airport...) and there was no Aquafor, no Motrin IB and several other things missing. the RR didn't print, but I was so adamant that the Mgr gave me a W-card...

I just went to another store this evening, they had nearly everything (no Motrin PM, still) but the Sinex $10 RR didn't print. Mgr. looked it up on the computer and it's no longer active.

I was so excited to share my $5 scenario, but it crumbled before my eyes...This was supposed to be such a good Wags week...*sniff sniff*

  11. I went to 2 diff store in St Charles County, one had 2 Motrin PM left on the shelf at 0630 this morning, but plenty of other items. This evening in Wentzville, there was still quite a bit of Motrin PM, and any of the other free or MM. They usually run out mid Monday. One of the manager's told me they are having a lot of trouble stocking correctly for sales because of holidays shifting the delivery date. One store had a full end cap of dollar items, among them $1 instant Cream of Wheat. It's free with the 2/9 SS coupon. Be aware it is the instant pkg with ONLY 3 servings inside. Good Luck everyone.

  12. My Wags experience today has been hit or miss with regard to stock as well. I went to three different stores and one store had two boxes of Motrin PM left, so I got those. The same store had plenty of some other items all on display right at the front of the store. Third store had almost nothing. I hope they get some more in with the Wednesday shipment.

  13. Hi All - I don't understand how Walgreens feature so many items in their ad for FREE and then not have better stock.

Lynda - I opened up my box of Anit-Aging and there was a whole sheet of coupons, but I didn't see one for Anti-Aging. Am I missing something, or do you suppose the coupons are different in differnt boxes.

Coupon.girl - Did you check out at the Beauty Counter? I check out there. I think the cashier had to push the Wags coupon through.

That store has a shelf cleaner in first thing Sunday morning now (No, not me!) and they don't like it at all. I think it sets the mood for Sunday couponers. I think I'll look for a different store to shop, even though I love lady at the Beauty Counter on Sunday.

I use a Manf. and Wags coupon there all the time. Print out Wags coupon policy and keep it with you when you shop.

Side note: I saw the shelf cleaner leaving. She had two bags and they weren't stuffed. There wasn't much stock in the first place.

  14. Hi Jeri! There are different coupons on the back side of all of those coupons. I almost missed mine. Look on the opposite side and see if it is there.

  15. Hi Lynda - I think I must have different coupons. I've got Libido, Bloat-less, Fat Burner, and other things I don't even know what they are. But, I NEED the Anit-aging. :)

  16. I checked out at the Front register. I was really surprised they wouldn't let me use both coupons. :(

  17. E-mailed Wags about yesterday's incident when I got home. Today, manager of the store called and left a message. He insisted that both coupons were manufacturer's coupons. Grrrrrr. Am so tired of dealing with Wags employees like him. More-Grrrrr. :I

  18. I stopped by several WAGS today...the manager of the Telegraph/Yeager told me that people wait outside the store the morning of the sale and then repeatedly go in and out out of the store as they purchase the same FREE items over and over and over.....she says that they can't do anything about it b/c the people then call central office and complain about the manager! So that's why so many stores are completely out of items at the beginning of the week!

I really wish WAGS would take on a policy like CVS with a membership card...it would negate a lot of greed and then many more can take advantage of the sale/free items.

  19. Hi coupon.girl - Grrrr is correct. I don't get these managers. But, then again, corporate could train and get better info to employees.

Anonymous - I too wish Walgreens corporate would do something here. Limits/loyalty cards would go a long way.

I actually feel for the managers. They are the ones having to listen to customers complain when they are out of the advertised merchandise. But, then they do have some people clear shelves. No matter how many products they would start with Sunday morning.

I've read online about many people reselling Waglreens merchandise. It's just wrong.

  20. I have often thought I could offer to give my fave Walgreens manager my number. She could call on Saturday night before the sale goes off. I could take all of the 'leftover' register reward freebies off their hands by rolling the transactions back and forth. I see this as a win/win for everyone! The store sales would be great for the day/week, they wouldn't worry about getting 'stuck' with merchandise they don't normally sell, and the places we donate to would get more stuff!
Then I think that maybe it would just feed my shopping addiction to much! =)

  21. HI Anonymous- You won't need to wait for a managers call. Just stop back in on Saturday evening. I've been know to go and see if there is some freebie left on Saturday.
