Saved 92% This Week

This was a great week to save money - the deals and coupons aligned.  It happens, but not quite often enough to save this kind of money on a regular basis. But, it is great to stock up when you can.

Saved: $44.56 for a 97% savings

Dierbergs
My cashier was all confused with my coupon for a free Food Should Taste Good bag of chips.  She looked at the coupon, and looked again, and then turned and got on the phone to call Customer Service.

She told Customer Service she had a coupon for a free bag of food, but it didn't say what kind.  She wanted them to come deal with the situation.

I felt sorry for the Customer Service employee.  She had to traipse all the way over to explain  - that WAS  the name of the product.

Before sales & coupons: $24.35
Spent: $7.36
Saved: $16.99 for 70% savings

Aldi
Comparable Schnucks price: $11.65

Saved: $3.00 for a 26% savings

Splurge Funds: $303.86

For those who don't read my blog on a regular basis, my splurge funds are the difference between what I've actually spent and my $50 budget. I use it for those items I never find on sale, don't have coupons for, or when I'm over budget.

Last year, I spent my extra splurge funds for a freezer. This year, I'm saving them to redo my pantry.

  2. Great week, Jeri! Loving the Diet Coke. At first glance I thought they were the 20 oz bottles, but no...2 liters. Awesome. It might make me consider a trip to CVS after all:)

  3. Hi micki - I still have a hard time buying anything that isn't on sale, but at least I have money for a bigger item if I haven't spent all my grocery budget.

Hi Melissa - The 2 liters are $1 and buy $15 get $5 ECB. The deal is not only this week, but again next week too.
