  1. I haven't made it into the Shrewsbery SNS yet, but a friend of mine was at the Crestwood location and overheard the cashiers all talking about the new coupon policy of accepting Walgreens Register Rewards. :)

  2. I wish we could get a definitive answer on the RRs at SNS. The Customer Relations rep told me they only take RRs that list specific items, not the ones for money off your entire order.

  3. Don't forget about the Taster's Choice deal. I was fortunate enough to find $1/1 Qs in two of my boxes and I have two $1.50/3 Wags Qs. Now maybe I can get a few boxes of decaf to go with my many boxes of regular! =)

Does anyone know how many you have to buy to trigger the $1.50/3 Q at SNS? I need to figure out how to maximize my savings.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Staci - Not sure about SNS but I've gotten the $1.50/3 Nescafe catalinas by buying 2,3 and 4 boxes at a time at Walgreens. No coupons in any of the 9 boxes I've bought at Wags.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Thanks, CJ! I did receive the Q when buying 2 at Wags and am hoping that it is the same at SNS so I can minimize my OOP. ;-)

  6. The diapers seem like a good deal to me. 96 diapers in the size 3 box at $19.98 + $1.25 for Pringles = $21.23 - $3/1 cpn (4/3P&G) - $5 OYNO = $13.23 or just under .14 a diaper. Not bad at all for Pampers.

  7. the ad for the p&g cat says purchase requirement calculated after manufacturers coupons redeemed.

  8. Hello to All,

CJ-I hope things get easier real soon for everyone regarding this change. This decision is from the Corp level and as I stated other stores in the SuperValu chain do accept RRs(and have for a very long time) and it is time our stores start also. SNS Corp has been in contact with Catalina regarding reimbursement and were told they would be fully reimbursed on Any Catalina Manu. coupon used whether it be a specific coupon or $$ off from any store-this is the words directly from my Store Director and he knows the difference between the MQs and RRs that print out. I will see what I can do to help. I have a friend who shops the SNS in O'Fallon on Monticello Plaza Dr. and she had emailed Valerie regarding the stores acceptance of RRs and Valerie had answered and clearly states SNS does accept Wags RRs and if you should have any issues to speak with a manager to clarify this is dated 3/30/11.

On the Nescafe-I did not open all my boxes but the ones I did-did not have a coupon in them. No big deal.

I picked up my special order of Nescafe yesterday at Wags(Thank you very much Wags)rolled the RRs I had and then took all but 1 $4RR to SNS and bought almost $60 in items for $.50 and rec'd the $5 PG Cat, $4 Nestle and $3 Nescafe. =) I have been getting the Nescafe DeCaf at SNS also and it does trigger the cat.

TYVM Anonymous for working out the diaper deal at SNS-I had thought about it but had not put it on paper yet. =)

    BBL

Have a Great Day to ALL =)

  9. Hi Jelyni,

I bought right at $20 of P&G yesterday and used coupons and rec'd the $5 Cat. HTH =)

  10. Hi All - First, of all thanks to everyone who is trying to figure out what SNS will or won't do with RR. And a special thanks to you, Janet.

It looks to me that eveyone at SNS is not on the same page. It's going to take awhile. SNS is no different than any other retailer when policies changes; it takes awhile for it all to come togeather.

Thanks, Staci for the Taster's Choice reminder. I still don't think I've got my head wrapped around that one.

Thanks Diaper User! I've blocked the pain of buying diapers out of my mind, just like the pain of childbirth.

Hi jelyni - Like Janet said the Catalina will print if you buy $20 and use coupons. SNS computers are programed to trigger the Catalina on purchase price not price after coupons.

  11. Good Afternoon to All,

    Hi Jeri,

Yep-It will take time for all stores to get on the same page. I was reassured 100% again today from my SD that RR acceptance is from the Corp level and all is good to go. Education for each store will take time. All managers are not the most coupon knowledgeable and will need to be presented with the facts to get on track and if managers cannot get it done the next step up is the Store Director.

Also wanted to let any Jerseyville IL readers know that the SNS there is aware of the RR acceptance.

I posted in the Wags forum regarding my shopping trip today and how it began with expired RRs I traded for and ended with another Great SNS trip where I used my "Fresh RRs" to pay. I am going to post the details in the CouponSTL Trader area after I take care of a couple things around the house. See ya there later. =)

Have a great evening to All.

  12. I'm still confused about the whole SNS thing. My email from Customer Relations rep Valerie dated 4/4/11 says "Our stores now accept the Manufacturer coupons that Walgreen’s registers print out; for example "$1 off any Puffs. However, our stores do not accept the Walgreens Register Reward coupons for the entire order; for example; "$3 off your next visit”." So I dont know if she's told different people different things or what. But if she isnt the person responsible for getting the proper information to the stores, than who is? If the managers/directors at my stores wont take my RRs, who do I refer them to if not to her?

    ReplyDelete
  13. Hi All,

I am running way later than I had hoped this evening.

CJ-I am still waiting further info as soon as I know more I will pass on the info.

Have a good evening to All.

  14. I did the McCormick deal yesterday (my thanks to Ms. Janet for the Qs). Bought (2) Sea Salt Grinders and (1) Pepper Grinder. Did not get any catalina coupon. :( Has anyone else tried this deal this week and got a Cat. Q?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Hey coupon.girl,

I did McCormick yesterday and rec'd the cat. Did you get any type of printout? I bought 2 Garlic Pepper and 1 Pepper Medley. YVW on the Qs =)

    ReplyDelete
  16. No print-outs, Ms. Janet. Did you buy the Grinders?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Hi All,

coupon.girl-Yep all I been doing is the Grinders. No other print outs makes me wonder if Catalina was down/store doing updates etc. I have been getting the Fashion Bug &/or Midas printouts no mater what.

Ok to update a bit on the SNS acceptance of RRs. I have just gotten off the phone with Valerie a 30 minute conversation. I have explained the facts exactly as I posed them to my SNS SD and explained exactly his response to me. From here she is going to contact my SNS SD to see who he spoke to at a Corp level and ?someone who is above her here locally. She has stated to me what CJ stated regarding the acceptance of only MQs for certain products and not RRs.

So keeping my fingers crossed that soon we shall All be on the same playing field. I will let you guys know ASAP when I do know more.

    And I have to add:

I LOVE my Shop n Save =) They are the Best. =)

I finally posted my shopping trips from yesterday over in the CouponSTL Trader forum =)

Is it to early for a Skinny Cow IC? Ahhhhh I better wait til after lunch.

  18. I purchased 2 McCormick Garlic Pepper Grinders and 1 Black Pepper Grinder and I did get the catalina coupon at Edwardsville SNS.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Hi Rachel,

Ohhhhhhh sooo close to home. Is Edwardsville the store you shop? And have you tried using RRs to pay? PLMK Hopefully one day we will cross paths shopping =)

    ReplyDelete
  20. Hi coupon.girl - It sure sounds like you should have gotten at Cat. You should call Catalina Marketing (877) 210-1917. When I've called them it took less time on the phone than stading in the CS line, and my coupon came within the week.

Janet - Thank you so much for the time you are spending on the RR acceptace at SNS issue. It's so kind of you to spend your time on an issue you don't have.

We need to have a Janet Appreciation Day!

Let me guess, $10/$50 next week????

  23. Hi JB,

Darn guess I had two secrets.........

    hehehehehehehehehehehe

    =)

    ReplyDelete
  24. Good Afternoon to All,

I just have to get to the good stuff. =)

Valerie called me back today regarding Wags RR acceptance. This information will be passed onto all stores.

So to clarify a Register Reward is still a Manufacture coupon with a remit to for reimbursement. Example (which she had fax copies of the Nescafe, HE(P&G) and Purex RRs I used this week at SNS so we both knew exactly what we were speaking about) the $4 Nescafe RR, $2 HE(P&G)RR and $2 Purex RR, these are MQs-Walgreens promotes these as "Rewards you get at the Register" thus a Register Reward or RR but still a MQ with a remit to and these ARE ALLOWED TO BE REDEEMED AT SNS.

What is not allowed is the Wags Ad coupons(weekly or monthly) for $ off or a catalina printout that is only redeemable at Wags as in $ off a Wags brand item OR example as in at the holidays when Wags does the "Holiday Cash" these are a Wags only catalina payable from Wags and cannot be used.

I hope that clears things up.

Valerie is a very nice lady and even asked if I had watched the EC show. We had a very nice conversation. Very Nice. =)

Sooooooo whats your thoughts? Can't wait to get to SNS to use your RRs from Wags?

    LMK

  25. I bought 2 of the twin pack of Hamburger helper at $1.88 each at Shop n Save. I used .75 coupon and I got a $1.50 register reward. I didn't know about the reward. How do I find out about those??

    ReplyDelete
  26. Janet,

Thanks for ALL your work with this! Some weeks it is so hard to find something at Walgreens to "purchase" with RRs, so this will be a GREAT option.

I would also like to say Valerie is WONDERFUL. I have emailed her with questions from time to time. She responds in a timely manner with clear information and is always very professional.

  27. I am super excited about sns accepting my wags rr!! Thanks Janet for all your hard work! I have $12 in rr that expire today and was planning a sns trip anyways- hope all goes smoothly! I have been following your site for over a year now and absolutely love it- thank you Ms. Jeri!

  28. Kelly in West CountyApril 7, 2011 at 9:14 PM

I went to Crestwood today and was told at the register and by CS that I could not use my RR to pay. When I informed them that I had received authorization and done it last week, they called someone on the Red line and confirmed that it was okay. $1.83 for my $50 of groceries - yeah!!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Good Morning to All,

WTG Kelly on that shopping trip =)

And a BIG welcome to all the new posters =)

KC-This does open up a whole new shopping experience for us =)

Mary-At the top of the page under the Shop n Save tab-when you click there it takes you to SNS info-there you will see a "Monthly Catalina" tab-this is where Jeri will post the new Cat deals we find. And the $1.50 Cat you rec'd should be a $1.50 off Beef? if I am thinking correctly.

I am more than happy to be able to help each and every one of us have a better shopping experience.

Please keep posting on if/when/where you are using RRs at SNS to pay-I just love hearing about your trips =)

  30. I am planning to buy a bunch of tuna pouches whenever my coupons arrive. I think I remember someone a few weeks ago saying that the catalina stacks. Has anyone done this recently that can confirm.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Hi Teresa,

When I purchased the tuna I did rounds of 50 pouches and rec'd the cat for ea 5. It should work the same. I have not personally bought any tuna since then. I would try doing 10 to see if it still stacks if no one reports back. =)

    ReplyDelete
  32. Hi Mary - What you got for buying Hamburger Helpers was one of SNS monthly Catalina offers.

Monthly Catalina offers are not advertised at any of the local grocery stores, except with shelf tages - if they are even put up at all and don't fall off before the month is up.

I try to cobble a list together each month. Click on the store name, in my header, and it will take you to a general page for the store. You will find a link to the Monthly Catalina page.

It takes a lot of help to come up with the info on the page. I find some at the store, but more often readers report what thye have found. Janet's a big help with SNS Cats.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Hi All - I can't say it often enough - Thank You Janet!!!!

I usually like to roll RR from week to week, but I can see a huge advantage of having the option of also using them at SNS.

I haven't even had time to get to SNS this week, let alone look and see what I have for RR. I'm going to try to get there Saturday. Hopefully, my store had read the memo.

  34. Has anyone tried using a Wags RR at SnS Chippewa? Wonder what they will say?!? Am kind of a bit "scared" to be the first to try. :I Sorry, am not so thick skinned. :I

    ReplyDelete
  35. Hi coupon.girl - At least you know yourself :)

I know some reader shoppers at the Chippewa store besides yourself, but of course, I can't remember who. Hopefully the will see this comment and let us all know if they tried it and it worked.

  36. Hi I just got back from SNS in Dardenne Prarie, they are taking walgreens RR with no limit. I spent $50, mostly ground beef and Deli items, used a $5 off $50 and $34 in RR. I had enough RR to pay for the whole order but I didn't want to press my luck. Thank you all for all the great information. Sandi

  38. Good Afternoon to All,

Thank you very much to those who are sharing their successful shopping trips. =) I am just lovin' it.

I have to step up and say respectfully:

Please when/if any of you share this Great News that SNS will now accept Wags RRs-Please give credit where credit is due and that starts with CouponSTL/Jeri & Myself(Janet).

I am more than happy to be able to share any info I can on a local level and thats only cuz of Jeri =) I do not visit any other local site and share any info, I only do here. Like I have stated I am a coupon "Geek" and I think this is Monumental for all of us local SNS shoppers.

One small request for one Giant Step in our couponing community.

Thank you All and have a Great afternoon. =)

    ReplyDelete
  39. Hi All - Thanks for reporting in where you shopped and your expirence with RR at SNS.

I've been putting off writing a seperate post about this new development to make sure all stores were on board. I know some readers might not scour the comment section.

I need advice - Is it time to make post about SNS accepting RR? Or do you think kinks still needed to be worked out?

    ReplyDelete
  40. Good Morning to All,

If you know about the Shop-I've been there-info is up. =)

Jeri-This one maybe up to you. Have you been to your SNS and tested the new policy? Maybe wait a couple more days til others are reporting in where they have been successfully using RRs and then maybe have a Grand Post about the changes for Monday? Just a thought.

This week has been a good/bad week for all couponers alike. A good week for us with SNS accepting RRs. A bad week for couponers in general. The EC show brought to light the worst aspect of couponing. I think most of you guys know what I mean. One of the ladies shown in the EC show is being heavily prosecuted by her couponing peers and I am sure will be dealt with legally for what she has done. I have had a heavy heart about the EC show. The good parts of the show Cannot outweigh the bad. And that is it I will not give the show anymore attention.

Have a great day to All.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Hi Janet - I still haven't been to SNS to try out using RR. I think I'll wait until Monday morning. The store I shop is clueless about a lot of things. I had better wait until phone calls can be made to Corp.

I'm going to take the positive outlook on EC and what it will do to the couponing world. It might be tough going in the short run, but I think this show will make things better in the long run.

Retailers will insist manufacturer code coupon correctly.

Retailers will set logical and understandable coupon policies and spend the time to train employees.

That extra bar code has been on coupons for quite awhile now. It's time to get it up and running everywhere. I'm not sure what all the info is that will be in the longer code, but hopefully expiration dates will be included.

Maybe coupon will become more standard in wording and where to find the expiration date.

I hope good things are to come.
