My "best buys" are items $1 or less, meat for $2 or less a pound and a few other items that are at rock bottom prices. When I keep my shopping list to these items, I can bring home a ton of groceries for very little money.
I've never shopped at Save-A-Lot, but I'm going to "cherry pick" there this week. They have a great sale price on Tyson chicken and Hillshire Farm smoked sausage. Since I started couponing, I've shopped at a lot of different stores I had never considered before. I'm still amazed how much money I've saved by changing the way I shop.

My husband and I went to check out the new Schnucks in Des Peres. Wow! What a nice store. It seemed like a Culinaria - on steroids. Although, I hate to deal with the 270 and Manchester traffic and we couldn't even figure out how to get out of the parking lot except to go east. I know I would spend way too much money if I shopped there regularly, but it was definitely worth a trip to sight see.

My plan is to never spend more that about $5 a week at Walgreens. Some weeks I can bring home a ton of items, other weeks not so much.Sale prices good October 4 - 10, 2009Remember: You want multiple coupons to use when a product is at a rock bottom price. When it's a good coupon insert week, I purchase 4 or 5 papers and sometimes acquire more. At first, I thought it was crazy to spend money to save money. But I've always saved much more than my $1 investment.
DEAL$ and Dollar Tree sell the Sunday Post-Dispatch for $1. The early edition is published on Saturday and it includes all the coupon inserts. And they usually still have Sunday papers left on Monday. Find the Deal$ or Dollar Tree closest to you.
What a fantastic week for shopping at Walgreens. I'm sending the flu and cold medicine to my college student. Hopefully he won't need it, and will share with others on his dorm floor. I think the money I made buying it will cover the shipping.
I forgot to put my couple cans of Pillsbury Crescent rolls in the picture. I'm running short on freezer space after all the veggies I've brought home. If ice cream goes on sale next week, I don't know what I'll do.
